Having as I do, the benefit of an extra day, what is to be made of the Yam’s reaction when word filters through his minders that not only Liz Cheney, but Dick Cheney, Darth his own self, has also endorsed Kamala Harris. Darth Cheney, his own self has come into the light.

What is this world coming to?

I thought her comments were great. She was spot on with the need to vote for Kamala; it's not enough not to vote for Trump.

Despite my distaste for the Cheney brand and my even more visceral hatred of Dook, I admire Liz’s patriotism and courage.

She the rarest of all: a Republican with actual integrity. A species on the brink of extinction:(

"all those rumors that Liz Cheney’s plane had taken off from her last concert in the UK and had arrived at Chicago’s Midway Airport, that she would parachute in at the last minute to endorse Harris from the stage"

Liz Cheney, Taylor Swift... all those blondes look alike to me.

We will trade you a broken Kennedy for a converted Cheney and McCain. That’s a great deal.

I still don’t like or trust Asajj Ventris, but if she’s willing to oppose the Evil Empire, I welcome her assistance.

There will be time for Conservatives, Democrats, and Leftists to argue policy AFTER we elect Harris and as many Dems as possible up and down the ballot. Because, if we don't, no-one is going to be able to argue policy again.

A Cheney who is both in politics and concerned about democracy really is a big deal.

Chaney has correctly recognized Maga as fascist. That's great! Know what else is fascist? Denying people reproductive care. Almost there, Liz.

OT: Amanda Marcotte has a piece up at Salon on how Republicans actually seem to think JD Vance is doing a good job. But when you look at the efforts of PAB's campaign to court angry divorced men and incels, JD actually is probably a good choice. He hits all their favorite themes: blaming women for everything and, uh, do they have other themes?

Anyway, hatred for women is perhaps one reason that WY replaced Cheney with someone who is bonkers. Or maybe there are only bonkers candidates available in the GOP.

Well color me embarrassed. I should not have assumed it was a guy when the GOP has so many terrible women to choose from as well.

I saw a clip of him being interviewed by some guy (screen too small on phone to recognize him) about what would he do to address the cost of child care. First he said Grandma and Grandpa might be able to help, or maybe there's an aunt. Then he started raving about how child care costs so much because you have to go to college for 6 years or something to work in day care centers or some such nonsense. That guy is more of a turd every day. Or he just reveals more turdiness.

There's a character in "With Fire and Sword*" who is trying to cross a river on a ferry ahead of an invading army. He argues that there is a ton of space on the lone ferry, plenty for him at his ward. Once he's on he switches entirely shouts that the ferry is nearly swamped and they need to push off right now leaving everyone else behind. The entire GOP reminds me of that character.

*awesome book about Poland in the 1600s. No really it's good.
