Arrest her for fraud. She promised them aid, housing, and jobs in order to induce them to agree to go to Boston. And not only were none of those things available, she didn’t even take them the Boston.

So if somebody picked up American citizens on a street corner, promised them a free trip to Seattle, then dropped them off on an island in Alaska with no commercial flights, that would be legal too… as long as the citizens once dropped off were “free to go anywhere”?

Interesting. Perhaps this is something Democrats should try doing shortly before Election Day in battleground states… flying Republican leaning poor voters to islands that they won’t be able to leave easily.

I mean, those same Floridians elected a bunch of representatives and senators in Congress who just voted against hurricane aid for Florida. So Floridians seem cool with fucking themselves over.

Greg's doing a workmanlike job, but he's not getting the press Ron is. You can't get as big a media splash in a large urban area that has the resources to address these dumps. The Base doesn't want competent cruelty. They want to be entertained.

Ignoring that rebuilding to focus on the national scene, which you know Ron would be doing, also isn't a good look.

Think of the primaries, though, with Marco Rubio ragging on Ron DeSantis for the Governor's fucked up response to Ian.

Can she lose her military retirement benefits over this?

IANAL but I don't think what you describe meets the definition of kidnapping. It might, if it weren't done in the full public glare of press coverage.

Fraud hell, that was kidnapping.

With the caveat that if you are under cover you always use your real first name in case you bump into someone you know. If you are with a target and some one calls out “Hey Hesave!” And your target says “You said your name was Fukui . . .” It can get awkward. So yes, she would be Perla but with a different surname.

I’m beginning to believe that the whole American experiment is just going to fall completely apart in the next 50 years or so. I just don’t see how we can recover from this level of corruption on one part and lack of judicial will on the other. These people have broken so many laws and broken them so egregiously that they should’ve been stopped at the moment they committed these crimes. Nothing is going to happen to any of these people… I bet my life on it.

Sigh

At least I don’t have any children and I have more years behind me than ahead of me. I don’t recognize this country anymore. It’s so surreal.
