Gay people deny no aspect of reality: it is a fact that people of the same sex can be attracted and have sex. That attraction is idempotent and measurable empirically. Acceptance of the reality of that biological phenomenon, apparent in behaviors across many animal classes, has no delusional aspects.

And when you say “girls getting their breasts chopped off” is dehumanizing language that is used to evoke violence rather than treating it with the respect and sensitivity it deserves.
Furthermore, Gender-affirming surgeries (like top surgery) are not done casually, especially for minors. They involve extensive evaluation, counseling, parental consent, and often, age and medical criteria. Framing it as something happening recklessly ignores the rigorous medical and psychological protocols involved.
And finally, trans kids and their families who pursue medical transition are often doing so after long periods of thought, support, and distress. Using dismissive or extreme language denies their agency and experiences.

Acceptance of the reality of that biological phenomenon, apparent in behaviors across many animal classes, has no delusional aspects.
Trans people also have a natural behavior, mimicking the opposite sex, a phenomenon which is present in innumerable animals.

Today's trans mania is trying to "trans away the gay." It's a new conversion therapy. The overwhelming majority of kids who think they're "trans" will desist and grow up to be same-sex attracted. Or simply grow out of this social contagion. (Because adolescents never latch onto trends, do they, or are affected by social contagion, are they?!)
It's profoundly cruel to tell someone he or she was "born in the wrong body." That's an inane notion to begin with. It's akin to a religious belief. People can believe what they want, but they can't force everyone else to believe, too.
Nobody can magically morph into the opposite sex. You're born in the body you have. If you're uncomfortable with it -- and most adolescents are, not to mention us adults -- then learn to deal with it. That's a psychological problem. It's a dysphoria like anorexia or bulimia. Would you tell an anorexic that because she says she "feels" fat, therefore she is? Would you "affirm" her? Or would you try to get her help?
Telling a young girl or woman that her body is somehow "wrong" is profoundly cruel. Encouraging her to fuck with her body's hormones and lop off her breasts is sick and twisted. And medical malpractice. I hope every one of these physicians and therapists encouraging this insanity is sued into oblivion. Everything you said about trans people being confused or coerced into being trans or calling transgender people a “social contagion” is the same bullsh!t social conservative scolds said about gays and lesbians thirty years ago. I know this is true because I lived it.
Trans kids who transition to the gender they identify with do it under the care of medical and psychological experts. Puberty blockers have been standard care for trans kids for decades. And when you say “girls getting their breasts chopped off” is dehumanizing language that is used to evoke violence rather than treating it with the respect and sensitivity it deserves.
Furthermore, Gender-affirming surgeries (like top surgery) are not done casually, especially for minors. They involve extensive evaluation, counseling, parental consent, and often, age and medical criteria. Framing it as something happening recklessly ignores the rigorous medical and psychological protocols involved.
And finally, trans kids and their families who pursue medical transition are often doing so after long periods of thought, support, and distress. Using dismissive or extreme language denies their agency and experiences.

The person that I am closest to transitioned from female to male years after we first met. We found it amusing, really; life does play these little tricks on you. And love is love; the rest is plumbing. The ranting loonie who chipped in above, probably an incel male with a list of phrases to use against "those" people, will never understand either that or love.
My sports team is swooning, my weather is uncommonly nice, but also getting into tinder dry, and the reichwing has shown a propensity for murder, so I do worry about any LBGTQ folks I may know, even if I do not know they are LGBTQ.
Well I worry about my trans and intersex friends, all my queer family. But I worry FOR us, not ABOUT us.
