"Prince Andrew, over suspicions of misconduct in public office "

sounds more like fraud or embezzlement than kid diddling

"misconduct in public office" implies that his crimes had to do with his position office....Kid diddling is a crime no matter 'where' it is done...Otherwise it implies kid diddling would have been OK but for the fact that he did it in office...

"One of the most glaring realities of Where We Are Right Now is that the United States’s system of governance is simply not up to the task of holding criminals, child rapists and traitors accountable for their actions."

I'm sure that Chief Justice John Roberts is just so proud of his work on the Supreme Court.

So randy andy is going down not for sex crimes but information crimes. Is there any doubt remaining that one of jeffie's main sources of money was as an information broker? OK, pimp, procurer, blackmailer spy. Take your pick.

Zyxomma's avatar

Ta, Evan. The *other* democracies are showing us how it's done.

It will be interesting if Randy Andy turns King's Evidence about Epstein-associated crimes committed on British territory. Or if he takes a metaphorical swan dive off the

White Tower

Resource NW's avatar

Does that mean that we can't rename a NYC garbage scow?

The Epstein class has been getting away with this shit since before women got the right to vote and have been able to slide under the radar because they own Bill Barr, Ken Starr and the FBI agents who questioned the girl victims, investigated the crimes and subsequently covered up for the Epstein class. Expect TrumEpstein to: make some loud noise in Iran; keep the government closed and blame the Democrats; Murdoch's media, See BS News, ad nauseam to deflect; and have the corporate Democrats to cave when the price is right. No fucking wonder they want to pass the SAVE Act. Even the White women are pissed off.

Quite apart from holding him accountable for all the financial crimes and self-dealing, when the next DEM prez starts removing his name from shit - like the Kennedy Center, the ballroom, The Arc de PISSOFFSHITSTAIN, TrumpRx, reclaiming that plane from the Qataries, ending the "Bored of Peace", Firing all of the ICE goons, selling off their assets to fund Health Care for VAs, restarting USAID, jailing Noem and Hegseth and drving Miller & Musk out of the country, etc etc etc THAT is going to cause him the heart attack that kills him.

He's a petty fucking asshole, and undoing the pettiness will eat at his shrivelled inner child.

Speaking of name, FL legislature just voted to change the name of the Palm Beach airport to President Donald Trump Airport or something.

Oooooooo me thinks these examples of nations applying the law to the powerful makes certain people with swollen ankles, orange skin and tiny hands and minds feel uneasy. He knows the layers of corruption and collusion he’s built will almost certainly shield him from any consequences in his lifetime. I can even imagine the GOP agreeing to permit an election in 2028 if the democratic nominee agrees to pardon Trump and his entire administration. There is no way Trump leaves office peacefully and without either pardoning himself, elevating JD Vance to potus on his last day and Vance pardoning him, or some other dramatic act.

Congress should see what’s happening around the world and feel shame, but most of them are incapable of that.

The baby blue bottom of the Airforce 1 is done on purpose to make the plane less visible from below. He ought to just paint a target on it.

Great post, Evan! Everybody, let's write and talk and make noise about this nonsense and maybe it will begin to sink in that this is not who we are. Here's my modest contribution from The Davely News.

So The Guardian's live updates on this story are interesting. They questioned Andrew for 12 hours. The photo of him in the car as he left the police station is quite interesting.

ETA: new update: Trump calls Andrew's arrest 'a very sad thing'

"Donald Trump has given his reaction to Andrew’s arrest in the past hour telling reporters on Air Force One:

I’m the expert in a way because I’ve been totally exonerated so I can speak on it … it’s a very sad thing.

His brother, who is coming to our country very soon, the King … it’s a very sad thing.

King Charles is due to visit the US in April.

Speaking about himself, Trump repeated that he is the one that “can talk about it” because he is “totally exonerated”. He added:

I did nothing.

Mountbatten-Windsor was pictured leaving police custody earlier this evening after he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

His arrest follows the US justice department’s release of millions of files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which revealed that Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly shared confidential information with Epstein during his time as a British trade envoy.

Wookiee Monster's avatar

The MAGAt cult thoroughly believes he’s been totally exonerated, too.
