I can even imagine the GOP agreeing to permit an election in 2028 if the democratic nominee agrees to pardon Trump and his entire administration. There is no way Trump leaves office peacefully and without either pardoning himself, elevating JD Vance to potus on his last day and Vance pardoning him, or some other dramatic act.
Congress should see what’s happening around the world and feel shame, but most of them are incapable of that.
