I am thinking that American history was taught differently where you went to school than where I did. We've never really been all that welcoming to anything Brown or with an Irish accent. That America is a myth.
The one I learned about had slavery for the first 80+ years of its existence, stole the continent from the Native Americans and put them on reservations, put its own citizens in to concentration camps, was the last westernized country to give women the right to vote, did everything possible to keep and maintain segregationist policies, and locks up a huge percentage of non-white people. It's actually quite disgusting. And a lot of that was done under the banner of Xtianity.
Yeah... I can't do twitter for that reason among many. I misread short things all the time. I yelled at some poor soul on this very forum because I misread a perfectly cromulent post.
Why is it now that the Twitter videos require that I click them twice, wind up on Twitter, then click again to watch and also unmute them? I don't "tweet" so at least it doesn't ask me to join. Also, too, the only Faux News I see is pretty much just here; with the occasional FB links posted by old HS people I used to know.
They are exactly that these days. One thing I hate about them is that they shouldn't be political at all. One friend told me that Al Gore was evil according to her paster back in 2000. Ive always thought that whole "render unto Ceaser what is Ceasers" thing meant that your supposed to keep religion and politics seperate.
It would be nice if Republican churches understood that belief is a personal choice. Unfortunately, their worldview is more aligned with the Taliban’s than anything else; of course they’ll never admit to it.
Snrk! I didn't put that together, I was reminiscing. Please don't blame the dogs, they cannot help who is housing them. And Great Pyrenees are actually pretty decent dogs. They are supposed to be pretty good at taking care of their sheep, if they have any, or their kids if they don't get to hang out with sheep and sort of blend.We used to have a GP mix and she was the sweetest dog - not the brightest and stubborn as, well, me about some things but seriously a sweetheart.
Yes I'm with you. But we can't let these thoughts take over and poison our souls, too. We have to feed the better angels in ourselves, or the awful people win. I have to keep telling myself this on some of the worst days. Hang in there, somehow we'll get through this.
I would imagine that in the end no one is going to be coming for him. Not because he is immune, but because he will be irrelevant. This will make me happy.
