Either due to an incredible coincidence or an incredible PR campaign

End-stage capitalism.

It demands constant growth, but constant growth is impossible, so they cut costs to increase revenue. They see AI as the ultimate cost-cutting tool: Free labor.

There's no talk about what happens after they've cut their labor costs to zero, but that's a next-quarter question.

If anyone should be quaking it's FOX bobbleheads. How hard is it for an AI to sound exactly like a FOX news host?

"Despite the fact that studies are already starting to show that AI is making people dumber."

That's not by accident. It's a feature, not a bug. Smart people don't support tech bros, billionaires, or greedy rich parasites in general.

Back in my day they handed me a mop and a rag, pointed and said "Congratulations on winning your Scholarship -- the toilets are in there." I can attest to the fact that there was nothing either artificial or all that intelligent involved.

Ta, Robyn. First, Lisa Kudrow libel. What the fuck did she ever do to you? Second, I resent knowing Harris Faulkner exists.

You can force me to use AI when you can shove it into my cold dead human (for now) fingers.

just wondering what Ms Faulkner's reaction will be when Faux decides to start replacing talking heads with AI robots for their "news" programs

Would anyone notice the difference?

Pixeloid's avatar

The robots would be more personable and project more warmth and humanity. AI can't match the smug superiority, snarky disgust, and sadistic bigotry of a "human" (allegedly) Fox troll.

I had the thought: what makes AI produced content slop?

If I had to answer that, it would be "if you can tell AI made it, it's automatically slop."

An actual human using AI as a tool will produce a final product that is indistinguishable from a non-AI assisted product.

"An actual human using AI as a tool will produce a final product that is indistinguishable from a non-AI assisted product *if they are willing to put the time and effort into making sure the ghosts in the machine aren't just pulling things out of their collective ass, and if they are willing to apply a little RI as well*." FIFY.

I don't know that RI is but I think this is a given.

I assume that if you have Artificial Intelligence, you should be able to balance it with Real Intelligence. I am sure at least 3% of humanity is capable of achieving Real Intelligence.

Why is everything phrased in terms of a "fight"? Can't companies just make things anymore? Do they all need to obliterate any competition and salt their fields?

Everything is so stupid, all the time now.

"Yeah. Stop screaming at the wind"

But that's Trump's favorite thing to scream about at his rallies?

Harris Faulkner... Never trust anybody whose given name and family name are both last names.

The biggest cheerleaders for AI secretly believe that THEY will never be replaced by AI, only other people. Which is funny in this case because "right-wing radio host" would be a breeze for AI to do.
