These people are really dumb. "Let the truth hang them" is an idiomatic expression. It doesn't mean a literal hanging. And "hanging" and "lynching" are not the same thing. In the idiom in question, the person is being hanged as a sentence for a crime. Lynching is mob rule, where a bunch of people decide their own truth and kill someone for it.

I find American news so weird. In the UK there is definately bias when it comes to newspapers, but TV news broadcasts - it's just the news without any opinion from the broadcasters. If you want criticism of politicians you go to the comedy shows like Mock The Week or Have I Got News For You.
