Fox News Dudes Being Total Girls About Donald Trump's Sexism

Oh, golly goodness, it would appear that there is once again discord in the House That Ailes Built. After taking a brief vacation, Fox's Megyn Kelly returned to the network Monday night, and Donald Trump drunk-tweeted a bunch of mean stuff about her. (We are not accusing Mr. Trump of being a drunkard, of course -- we know he only drinks at church. We just assume that anyone on Twitter is drunk, because it is Twitter).

And so Roger Ailes, the Boss of All the Leggy Newsblondes, whose legs he has personally vetted for their journalistic skills, has called on Donald Trump to apologize for all that ungentlemanly impudence. After which Ailes had to excuse himself for a moment, because "impudence" got him thinking about "pudenda" again, and he had to go sit behind a non-glass desk for a few minutes to cool off.

Trump retweeted a most unkind comment about Megyn Kelly, then followed it up with a few thoughts of his own:

Needless to say, Ailes felt compelled to defend Kelly's honor, and since dueling has sadly fallen out of favor, he demanded that Trump play nice, because after all, didn't Donald and Roger kiss and have angry make-up sex over this unfortunate misunderstanding once already?

Ailes was not happy, not one bit. The only guy who gets to treat his female employees that shittily is Roger Ailes, by god, and he'd better be able to see some leg when he does. Said Ailes, in a statement full of high dudgeon and low cunning:

Donald Trump's surprise and unprovoked attack on Megyn Kelly during her show last night is as unacceptable as it is disturbing. Megyn Kelly represents the very best of American journalism and all of us at FOX News Channel reject the crude and irresponsible attempts to suggest otherwise. I could not be more proud of Megyn for her professionalism and class in the face of all of Mr. Trump’s verbal assaults.

Ailes went on to defend Kelly's demeanor toward Trump at the first GOP debate, which he called "tough but fair," and said that this time, this time, Donald Trump had gone too far in treating one of Ailes's beautiful blonde girls as if she were a mere piece of bloody-as-hell meat, which is, again, Roger's prerogative. (Say, you know what else he likes to call "Roger's prerogative"?)

Donald Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should. We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied by anyone and we’re certainly not going to start now.

For his part, Trump was unimpressed by Roger Ailes, who has never built a single hotel, not one, and also how well is Roger Ailes doing in the polls, huh?

I totally disagree with the FOX statement. I do not think Megyn Kelly is a quality journalist. I think her questioning of me, despite all of the polls saying I won the debate, was very unfair. Hopefully in the future I will be proven wrong and she will be able to elevate her standards to a level of professionalism that a network such as FOX deserves.

That's some wibbly-wobbly logic worthy of a really dumb Timelord. Polls taken after the debate prove Donald won, so Kelly should not have asked him such mean questions during the debate. Trump had additional thoughts on polls, which mean he has nothing to apologize for:

More importantly, I am very pleased to see the latest polls from Public Policy Polling showing me at a strong number one with 35% in New Hampshire, the Monmouth University poll showing me, again at number one, with 30% in South Carolina and the latest national poll from Gravis where I am again the clear front runner with 40%. It was also just announced that I won the prestigious corn kernel poll at the Iowa State Fair by a landslide.

Got it, Roger and Megyn? Who are you weak losers to question thewinner of the prestigious corn kernel poll at the Iowa State Fair?

In an utterly unrelated but surprisingly well-timed post, several hours before Trump and Ailes began arguing over the hot blonde on Fox, Media Matters posted a collection of "70 Awful Displays Of Sexism On Fox News." In only six minutes, which is rather impressive. Why 70? Lord knows. We guess they tried to do a Top Ten list and kept finding examples to shovel in.

You can't really suggest that the post was prescient, of course, since a scan of any 24 hours of Fox News programming could probably dredge up another 20 or so examples.
