WON’T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES!

Expand full comment

If they think this is so great and everyone wants it, why be ashamed?

I don't think they have ever made the case that people want this. It has long been known that abortion and medical privacy are popular rights in the US. This being made public means that voices can speak against it, particularly with elections coming up.

Do they think the justices should be able to make decisions in private?

Yeah. They’re scared.

One leak and the Supreme Court is cancelled. That was easy.

I still think the leaker is conservative, trying to get it out in the open to die down before the midterms.

There is zero chance that public opinion will change any SC minds and any would be liberal leaker would know that

Why are they all so mad about “winning”? Is it because this, like everything they do, is wildly unpopular and might jeopardize their chances to slime their way back into power, thereby jeopardizing their chances at doing a whole bunch more wildly unpopular things?

Imagine those hysterical ladies getting all mad just because a bunch of men have declared that women's bodies belong to penis owners. Don't they know the important issue is the leak!

"Monday night's breaking news that Justice Samuel Alito has written a vile little diatribe masquerading as a big boy Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe, eviscerating abortion access, and setting the stage for criminalizing the existence of anybody who isn't straight, white, male, and Christian, came RIGHT smack dab in the middle of Fox News's prime white power propaganda hours.

It was remarkable how quickly they all coalesced on what they were really mad about."

It would be totally UN-remarkable if this whole leak had actually been co-ordinated with the Fox Noise Channel, hours or days ahead of time, so that the professional propagandists of Fox could take the time to come to a consensus about what to be mad about, or what to pretend to be mad about. The Fox Noise Channel not only doesn't qualify as news; it doesn't qualify as reality TV, either. It's much too scripted for that.

Nobody trusts the United States Supreme Court, except the minority of mostly white men and God-botherers who expect the court to do their bidding. That’s their biggest problem, not that an opinion we all knew was coming was “leaked.” For all we know, the court “leaked” it to make the impending protests by the majority less intense. When laws are written to promote conservative ideology instead of recognizing the reality of human needs, you harm people. When Roe is overturned, women will be arrested and jailed, they will take desperate measures to self-abort, and they will travel to the nearest state (if they can) to get the care they need. And this crisis will rage.

"This is the Benghazi of Insurrections!"

"If what happened on January 6 is an insurrection, this absolutely is an insurrection," said Huckabee

Because we need a good false equivalence that delegitimizes the word "insurrection."

Especially for executions! Remember how the Republicans were projecting/accusing the Democrats of wanting "star chambers" and "death panels"?

It’s weird how furious they are that the American people know about…*checks notes*…a thing they believe is right and good?
