... not soon enough apparently. It seems the number of Amtrak accidents have been increasing each year if you look at the past decade, according to CNN (who of course is running this latest disaster right off the rails).

I wish they would just admit the glaringly obvious fact that every time they say "poor" they really mean "black/brown". The far right is in self-destruct mode and they don't even seem to realize what they are doing to themselves. It's quite entertaining, don't you think?

Wow. I love this story! Indeed, this is the mindset that all too many have but that none of us are willing to admit exists.Side note: I LOL'ed at the deodorant over the clothes. Thank you for the chuckle.

That's the thing that bothers me most. While I understand the need for means-testing and scrutiny to a certain degree, the hoop-jumping (particularly for cash aid, which is damn near impossible to get now, as it *sort of* should be) seems to have gotten out of hand to the tune of 'you don't qualify because.....' when your life circumstance might have you at risk for homelessness like yesterday. They've got a nice way of putting everyone into robotic categories (again, I get it. There are millions of us.) and it seems that extenuating circumstances are blatantly ignored. A few asshats have ruined it for the rest of those truly needing help, such as yourself. It's irritating to watch people have to go through this. You're not asking for the moon and stars here.
