"The Senate story is definitely a story"

Yeah, it's a story because when you look at the majority of the old folks home runaways that populate the Senate it's definitely news that anyone there is getting some nookie.

FFS.

To be clear, the "FFS" was not directed at Evan. Evan, you know I love you. /kissyface.

Razor-cut, clean-shaven, fake-eyelash-and-high-heel wearing conservative white dudes and dudettes got nothing to say I need to hear. These Plastic People are nowhere near the kinds of people I hang with, and have zero credentials that would make me want to know what they "think". So screw them. Also, OT: I just read a HuffPost headline that younger voters are mad at Biden for Israel, inflation, and unkept promises. Right younger folks, so let's "vote our conscience" and get a fucking fascist for prez instead. Fucking idiots. I swear, if you haven't been around since the Ray-gun era, and you're not paying attention, i.e., only getting your news from the MSM, then you're ignorant about what the rw rubes are capable of, and actually planning.

Amezed's avatar

In my very humble opinion, we-all need to quit speculating about what could occur in a second Dumph "administration." It. JUST. CANNOT. HAPPEN. Can we, as a people (looking at you, Atlantic magazine) knock it off and just starve the oxygen to this clownshow? Reality TV made this meshugga: real TV might shut it down. Maybe. Love, me :)

Hanky panky between consenting Steve and Frankie in one of the 11,000 rooms in labyrinthine Congress is clearly more of a national concern than Trump unfathomably returning to the White House. To be clear, NOTHING is more vital to America than electing a normal, capable person next year. 2024 is going to be a bumpy ride.

RSKPDX's avatar

Trump is now quoting Hitler and still nobody in the GOP will stand up to him.

We are approaching our own November 1933 German election

Amezed's avatar

It's extremely scary and also extremely accurate :(

Dshwa's avatar

The Senate Sex Tape is basically just an HR problem, not news.

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

How come the multitudes of sex scandals by the right (read: catholic church) aren't a concern of the rw bobble-heads, Hmm? Hmmmm? Hmmmmmmm? You know, like the M4L hypocrisy BS going on down in Floriduh?

DemoCat's avatar

Seriously, Congress has like 2700 rooms and offices. There are designated rooms there for that.

It’s worth remembering that Trump kept a book of Hitler’s speeches - My New Order - in his bedroom and read it repeatedly. This is according to the testimony of his late ex-wife, long before Trump was interested in being Hitler in real life.

https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trumps-ex-wife-once-said-he-kept-a-book-of-hitlers-speeches-by-his-bed-2015-8?amp

Amezed's avatar

I would counter that Dumph has always been interested in becoming Hilter (typo & it stays) in real life. Despite their differing life trajectories, they are both unmitigated losers capitalizing on depressed populations and thinly disguised racism/genocidal tendencies :)

Boojum's avatar

He also wanted to do Paris Hilter.

Do you think they named her Paris as an homage to Hitler taking Paris?

Boojum's avatar

Oh, I agree. He just hadn’t yet tried to BECOME Hitler when she testified. She had zero reason to make that up.

Amelia- funny, I wonder why you picked that as your handle. It is the title of my favorite Joni Mitchell song, and runs through my head a lot of the time ("Oh Amelia, it was just a false alarm", with that gorgeous tune).

Was this the same day his 2nd immigrant wife gave a speech at NARA? I'd hoped her being there meant we were getting some of our stolen documents back, but I was wrong, she was just there to complain about how hard it is for immigrants to gain entry but apparently we don't get to see how exactly she did it. I would put money on that visa application containing questionable information.

Wookiee Monster's avatar

Apparently, she got the genius visa at one point. Not sure what her “special talent” was.

Amezed's avatar

One could get those dollars for donuts in the 80s. My magazine editor boyfriend got one from Bob Guccione Jr., ugh :/

Spleen Victoria's avatar

In Canada you can get a visa for stripping. True story, not sure why that popped into my head…

Shire Jansen's avatar

Yes, I meant to attach this, it says we don't get to know what her area of expertise was. Also explains there can be letters of recommendation, in 2001 it is easy to imagine the names that might have slimed those signatures.

rlcornelius's avatar

So ... she's complaining it's too hard for immigrants to gain entry when her husband's on the side that says it's not hard enough.

Amezed's avatar

"It's not hard enough." sorry, I'll show myself out >>>>>>>

Shire Jansen's avatar

Yes, apparently that would also mean their child has poisoned blood, if one were to apply what he says as fact...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/12/18/poisoning-blood-trumps-ugliest-moments-immigrants/

Spleen Victoria's avatar

Stop it. It’s not poison, he’s just an anchor baby!

Boojum's avatar

Silly, he means brown people immigrants, not white people immigrants!

Wookiee Monster's avatar

He’s not even being subtle about the point. He rattles off Latin America, Africa, and Asia as places that are giving us poison blood, but strangely not Europe, where his grandfather, mother, and two out of three of his wives came from.

Shire Jansen's avatar

It's all so disgusting, especially considering how much bronzer they both wear trying to have darker complexions, isn't it?

Lionel “8647” Hutz's avatar

Given that most Republicans are embracing Defendant "Vermin" Trump's overt turn to fascism, you would think they would know he has to go to prison now so he can write about his "struggles."

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

But then he would be released only to succeed in taking out democracy, you know, to follow the Hitler playbook.

TalentNotAutotune's avatar

IMHO, the best way to use PAB's "blood" comments is this:

Go on all Spanish TV stations, radio stations and print media with ads that say, "The blood of immigrants - legal or otherwise - is the exact same blood. It's the same blood YOU and YOUR FAMILY have. When someone says America's blood is being poisoned, that person is talking about YOU and YOUR FAMILY. Believe him when he says it. {insert PAB video here} Why would you ever support someone who thinks YOU and YOUR FAMILY are poisoning the blood of America?"

It's truly inconceivable that the GOP gets even one Hispanic or Latino/a vote. Use PAB's "blood poisoning" comments to show them what PAB *really* thinks about them.

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

Those that came "legally" though are often pissed at the "illegal" ones. Like as if they are somehow different.

TalentNotAutotune's avatar

Exactly. In reality, when PAB says America's blood is being poisoned, he is talking about EVERY immigrant.

Mark Linimon's avatar

Has anyone queried the First Nations tribes about any of this?

SethTriggs's avatar

They can always find something bad-faith to latch on. "Poisoning our country" is a very very very big deal actually.

Show these clowns the consequences of their fascism. Each one teach one, get folks to the polls and VOTE.

eliz_'s avatar

So, if the "Ripping THREE WORDS from Donald Trump!" was even more direct: "Blacks are slaves!" or "Kill the Muslims!" or "Rape all women!" or "White only rule!", it would still be about the fact that it was JUST the three words, and not about the message that Trump was giving overall?

And honestly, I cannot believe that Trump hasn't slipped further to say some version of those statements. I honestly give him more credit for his (limited) mental acumen than some here, because completely senile Poppy wouldn't be able to contain himself, though Trump is getting closer and closer to the line.

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

Is there a pool for when he says the N word at a rally?

rlcornelius's avatar

I want to know what three words he meant. "Poisoning the blood of our country" is 6 words. So either he can't count, he meant part of that phrase, or he meant something else altogether.

Boojum's avatar

He intended to use 14 words - “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children” - but couldn’t remember that many.

Zap's avatar

"Keep America pure" lol

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

"Pure" is Boooooorinnnnnnnnng! In Berkeley, CA you can be standing in line at a cafê with 9 different languages going on, and various skin colors and sartorial choices to match. I mean WHF wants to hang out with a buncha NASCAR types in line at IHOP? I do not.

Buz 13's avatar

Right?? I’ll say it again, the USA as a concept has always been diverse. And this landmass now known as the USA has been Spanish speaking longer than it’s been English speaking. I hate how these idiots think brown people didn’t exist until the mid 1960’s because they grew up watching Leave it to Beaver.

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

I love the play on words of the name "Beaver Cleaver". LOL. Ya think the showrunners maybe had a sense of humor?

Revenant's avatar

I don't remember seeing one brown face on "Beaver". The closest to diversity that show ever got was Eddie Hascall's turn as a Weasel-American.

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

"Father Knows Best"; Ozzie and Harriet"; "Mayberry RFD."

These people fling charges and accusations at Democrats that are as over-the-top as they are ridiculously vague. Meanwhile, they become apoplectic with indignation if anyone quotes 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦'𝘴 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴 back.
