IMO, this can be attributed to those of us (I'm in my mid-70s) who remember a country before the Goldenrod Grotesqueness made fascism popular to more than just the extreme fringe of the New GOP. We have enjoyed too many freedoms to willingly enter into servitude in the RINOs' plans of a tyranny of the minority, or to accept American Sharia -- based on a perverted interpretation of the Christ's teachings -- as the new direction of jurisprudence.

I saw a former Republican strategist on MSNBC the other day. He was asked about polls showing republicans gaining grounds with African-Americans. His take was that polls have always overcounted African-American support for republicans. When the polls say republicans are getting 20%, they should really expect around 8-10%.
Some of those categories are ridiculous. "Guns" - just the word "guns." WTF does that even mean? If you asked me if "guns" were important, I'd say, gun CONTROL is. If you ask the rabid NRA member down the street, he'd say HOLY SECOND AMENDMENT. So you could theoretically say that "guns" are "important" to both of us, when neither of us would agree with the other in any possible way.
