This is an excellent point.

Holding Ashton Kutcher up as an ideological hero, to be admired and emulated is very dislike the way that many on the right hold Ayn Rand up as an ideological hero, to be admired and emulated.

Because words can only have literal meanings, Editrix should apologize and admit fault because nobody strung the words "...like Ayn Rand" at the end of their sentence.
