This summer on the 4 train. Sobbing into my backpack from the news in Uvalde. Fellow rider gave me tissues. Another time on the 4 dropped my glasses and a nice guy ran off the train to hand them to me. Yeah dangerous AF /s

Fox reminds me of the bit from comedian Dara O'Briain: "I give out when people talk about crime going up, but the numbers are definitely down. And if you go, “The numbers are down”, they go, “Ahh, but the fear of crime is rising.” Well, so fucking what? Zombies are at an all-time low level, but the fear of zombies could be incredibly high. Back when I was in college I would stand inside the I beam. If someone wanted to push me in front of a train they would have to pick me up out of there. I never had any troubles on the train. If I got a seat I would tuck my arm into my bag with take a nap. If I was on the F I would be up by Union so I could transfer to the E.

The problem is people that need treatment may not stay on their meds and become a danger to others because they are off their meds and cannot be made to stay on their meds outside of an institutionalized setting.

JFC, I used to take the bus down and visit with friends in NYC in the late '70s when things weren't that great, and I never worried that anything would happen to me.
