I shocked my co-workers a few years ago when I printed an article about the origin of the pledge. It shut down an incredibly stupid argument they were having among themselves. Both sides actually thanked me. Smart bunch, just not hip to some minor details.

If Belen insists on a public display concerning Bethlehem with historical significance, maybe they could compromise ad put a display in the park of the steelworkers in Bethlehem, PA being laid off after the Republicans shipped all their jobs overseas.

...and since there's a Belen, NM, Catholic priest defending this stuff on Fox News, it seems like there's a perfect place where this...artwork?...should be hosted.

Mayor Cordova is getting some top-notch Constitutional advice from a local priest, Father Clement Niggel, of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.

They could also ask San Francisco how much was spent defending the Mt. Davidson cross, just to have a judge snark that Constitutional rights aren't supposed to depend on the weather (among SF's arguments was that Mt. Davidson is so foggy that people can seldom see the cross anyway).
