Charles Kushner? The convicted criminal Charles Kushner? Where Donny's Roy Cohn?

For two days now, I've been here with no pain medication, and when I ask they say "We're just waiting for the order to come from the hospital."

Why didn't it come with ME, asshole? This might not mean shit to you, but it's pretty important to me.

Every day an authentic person decides anew whether life is worth living, and bullshit like this moves the fucking needle.

Dear our American friends, our English is not so good so we never meant to say you are monsters because you have killed innocent schoolchildren and your own citizens. We meant only to say you may be monsters. Being French, we do not wish to judge any country lesser than France. Are we saying this correctly? Again, our English is perhaps almost as bad as your French and your serving sizes. We end this apology as your ambassador ends his missives to us… Adios.

Diplomatically it is good to have an imprecise language like French.

OMG, someone else read and appreciated V, Pynchon's best novel! You have measurably brightened my day.

Though I've never read it, I've heard critics call GRAVITY'S RAINBOW unreadable pornographic trash, so it's going on my list.

It contains a memorable cophrophagic situation that many people believe cost him the Nobel Prize for Literature.

France was our bête noire when they refused to play in Iraq and “freedom fries” became a stupid thing. They rightfully ignored us. They should have done the same this time.

Spain figured it out.

Such progress. From the one-man laughingstock of Queens to a nation now the laughingstock of the world.

I am glad that they stood up and denounced the criminal actions of this villainous regime. Vive la France!

In case anyone has forgotten, the Epstein files have STILL not been fully released, as was ordered by Congress.

But we have so many worthy distractions! Why won't the Republicans open the Trump-Epstein files?

Macron, like so many before, experiences that indescribable combination of disgust / puzzlement / dismay / bemusement / anger / frustration / disbelief that every encounter with Don-Don brings.

"Now the French have “apologized,” and we’re sure they mean it and didn’t have their fingers crossed behind their backs."

Serge from "Beverly Hills Cop" replies:

"Of course we apologize, don't be stupid."

'As we said, hissy ensued. There were melodramatic walkouts by the Trump Americans when the French were speaking, there was huffing, there was puffing, there was US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, who stopped texting on Signal long enough to whine about France besmirching the pristine human rights record of the Trump US, etc. Très histrionics, grand pant-shitting, and so forth."

As usual, the descriptor "flounced" springs to mind...

Time to head to Costco and stock up on their limited per person purchase of 5 cases of motor oil. All this prepping is making me cray.

Daniel O'Riordan's avatar

I got the oil changed yesterday a little early because of all this. There was a $4 temporary surcharge added with a long bureaucratic title that boiled down to "oil insecurity."

swmnguy's avatar

I seriously do need to make an appointment for an oil change.
