CBS and Paramount are already dead. The Ellisons will eventually sell off most of it piece by piece. And they’ll probably do the same to Discovery Warner if and when they take over that.
All they’ll hold onto is CNN and whatever remnants of CBS News Bari Weiss doesn’t manage to destroy. What’s left will be a hollowed out shell of a propaganda network with even less credibility than Fox or even Newsmax.
Honestly, we are at the point that anyone associated with 60 minutes should just resign if they hope to have and credibility or honor left. Then Weiss can just run "Libs of Tic Tok" videos, which was probably her plan all along.
Let's all remember, it is very easy to destroy something, as the proven rapist Trump has shown for his entire career. Any two-year-old can do it. Building something takes time and skills, which as has been proven time and time again, is not something MAGA has or cares about.
You would think that with a large population of us folks already angry about Colbert and about the changes they’ve made so far, determined to boycott CBS, they wouldn’t double down like this. But they have.
Bilton writing "the most important television journalism brand this country has ever produced" instead of just "the most important television journalism ..." certainly tells you what he thinks is important and worthy of respect.
Dude has no idea what he's talking about. He was obviously brought in to be the hatchet man.
Anyone planning to actually lead that operation would follow the rule I've observed among incoming executives. They usually leave things pretty much alone for 12-18 months. Only after seeing who does what and how; then they release their Unified Field Management Theory Of Everything. Which is usually re-org bullshit calling things by different names. But they wait and try to keep from killing the golden goose while justifying their own hiring.
When they come in like this, the plan all along was to get rid of everybody.
What Bilton also doesn't seem to understand is that after the hatchet-man does their dirty work, the hatchet-man is the next one out the door. Then all the problems, prior to the hatchet man's arrival and those caused by the hatchet man, get blamed on the hatchet man. Who doesn't care because they got paid up front for that service.
When the hatchet man doesn't understand where that position is on the Great Chain Of Corporate Being, and doesn't know what happens eventually and inevitably to the hatchet man; that's unusual and a setup for a huge disaster.
Bari Weiss' mouth is firmly attached to Peter Thiel's ass.
FWIW, I sent my note to CBS telling them 'goodbye' after watching them for 60 years now (I missed them the first 3 years)
"All that, and Andy Rooney, tonight, on Vichy Minutes."
Bari Weiss will be studied in journalism schools for generations as an example of how not to run a news organization.

I was surprised Pelley lasted as long as he did.

I for one am looking forward to our new Nooz Overlords, The Onion. Can you imagine? It would be wonderfully accurate, incisive, and still funny.
Of course, I also look forward to WonketteTV™ when that rolls off the shelf in the year 2038.
There are times when I am on a long drive and I wish I could turn on the Wonkette Rants station on SiriusXM.
I have nothing but respect for Scott Pelley for doing this and nothing but contempt for the people who are undermining "60 Minutes."

Remember, they know better.
Scott Pelley Mad As Hell And Not Gonna Take It Anymore.
For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story.
Spill man! When? What?
It'll be part of discovery. Should Paramount choose not to settle.
Li'l reminder that Bari Weiss and Larry Ellison are Epstein-adjacent
https://deanblundell.substack.com/p/the-company-they-keep-bari-weiss
You know who else is Epstein adjacent? Ohio Senator Jon Husted. Took a shitton of money from Les Wexner then voted to protect Trump.
Sherrod Brown isn't shy about saying that either.

He's aping the style of the moron-in-chief.
Bari probably thought Pelley would be all like, “Hey, careful man there’s a beverage here”
But no.
