Wow. "I'm too dumb to stop my self from doing something dumb" is quite the legal strategy.

So they actually went there huh? "You didn't stop me from doing this thing so you should pay for the thing I did!"

That's the line of the FarQMAGA now?

What is it with the modern wackadoodle right and incompetently bizarre legal manoeuvring? Is there some nerve agent on Putin’s cheques that ensures that when you get to court you’re going to argue something that sounds like it came from Neptune? Or is it just the sheer fucking entitlement doing this too? Your honour I’m a white guy who fears he is losing out because sometimes there are black people outside and they’re walking on the sidewalk not in the gutter. Please find for me in your decision because sunspots.

With logic like this, it’s a fair bet these chowder-heads also believe victims of abuse frequently force their abusers to hurt them. Maybe if the victim loved the abuser more, everything would be okay.

If anyone is to blame for doing nothing to stop the Covid Convoy's efforts to turn Canada into a truckocracy, let it be Dithering Doug Ford, part-time premier of Ontario, who sat on his hands in Toronto pretending that the city of Ottawa was surrounded by a Douglas Adams-style S.E.P. (Somebody Else's Problem) invisibility field . While it's par for the course for Canadian premiers to blame Ottawa for pretty much everything from inflation to the weather to the inability of Canadian teams to win the Stanley Cup, it's a bit disingenuous to blame "Ottawa" when that city is actually in your own province and your own provincial police force could have been sent to assist the city police in removing the freedumb fighters.

He was at the lake! How was he to know what was happening in Ottawa? Everyone knows there is no connections to cities at the lake! No phones or internet or teevee. When you go to Cabin you go backwards in time to 1860! This is known!

Republicans did that, a lot.

A few thoughts.

1) Wingnuts suing the Ottawa PD for not preventing them from breaking the law seems very much like Hamas blaming Netanyahu for security failures and propping up Hamas. Netanyahu does deserve that blame, but not from the folks who committed the offense. This is literally like a bank robber blaming the police for not stopping the robbery.

2) The US version of "The Great Honkening" included Oakland high school students rushing into the Safeway to buy eggs to throw at the Honkers. Oakland high school students rule.

3) Also, too, on The Great Honkening, that's an excuse to repost this photo link...Birb Libelz!

I've had people tell me it was my fault for loaning them money, so why would I be surprised when they didn't pay it back?

The most amazing one, though, was some poor old dude who defaulted on his mobile home loan because, "My grandson comes in here and he does drugs so why should I pay my loan?!?"
