I have a lot of scrap lumber from building chicken coops, fireplaces, planters, whatever.
Trash pick-up is not enamored of taking away scrap lumber, so I’m always trying to find creative uses for it. Under the floor of my coop is all the old deck lumber I removed, cut up into tiny pieces, as insulation. It’s 12” deep.
And I made this tabletop for next to my lounge chair (the Ladies’ lounge chair, mostly, tbh) to use up some more. It’s perched atop an old aluminum hot water heater stand I bought years ago, for holding a heated waterer in winter, for songbirds in the yard. Tired of it taking up space all summer in the garden shed. Now the Ladies can walk on it and poop on it.
Also, here’s some baptisia and clematis because they’re pretty.
