I know it's an old joke, but you should listen to country music backwards. You get a great job, your truck works great, your wife comes home and your dog comes back to life.
Isn't this, really, the ethos of country music? Keep it simple, no pretense, no strutting or preening, no ostentation? Personal flamboyance is encouraged, like Dolly Parton, because it's fun to play dress-up and give people a show. But "Don't go thinking you're better than anyone else" is the whole fucking point of the genre.
Side note to whoever the fuck CPT C is: Inclusiveness is the exact opposite of elitism. Open a damn dictionary, shithead.
One of the best things about being that wealthy (I assume) is not having to give a fuck about what other people think, and Brooks has been at the "my money makes money" stage of rich since I was in high school. He could light that bar entirely with flaming stacks of $100 bills for the first year it's open and not notice.
Garth was singing about open-mindedness and acceptance and love back in 1992!
“We Shall Be Free”This ain't comin' from no prophet,Just an ordinary man. When I close my eyes,I see the way this world shall beWhen we all walk hand in hand. When the last child cries for a crust of bread,When the last man dies for just words that he said,When there's shelter over the poorest head,We shall be free. When the last thing we notice is the color of the skin,And the first thing we look for is the beauty within; When the skies and the oceans are clean again,Then we shall be free.We shall be free, we shall be free.Stand straight, walk proud,'Cause we shall be free. When we're free to love anyone we choose,When this world's big enough for all different views,When we all can worship from our own kind of pew,Then we shall be free.We shall be free, we shall be freeHave a little faith, hold out,'Cause we shall be free. And when money talks for the very last time,And nobody walks a step behind; When there's only one race,And that's mankind, then we shall be free.We shall be free ,we shall be freeStand straight, (walk proud, )Have a little faith, (hold out;)We shall be free.We shall be free, we shall be free,(Stand straight, ) stand straight,(Have a little faith, ) walk proud,'Cause we shall be free.
When I think of all the lies we were told in California history class and in our textbooks I’m both horrified and angry. I would like to think my family was not deeply involved in the horror…but just by being able to prosper at all means they and I carry some of the guilt. We were not farmers, we were professionals for the most part (except for the rogue…and he probably had a lot of Irish charm) but looking the other way has its soul cost

Why not give them 2 cents a sale? Artists deserve a living too and some people buy, record, share and return.

Plus, you get your kids back. It's definitely a classic 20th Century joke that should be passed on to future generations.
That's what happens when you venture outside your bubble.
I wrote a country song about Matt Gaetz partying with underage hookers, but it wasn’t the hit I was expecting it to be.

The usual snowflakes are crying that Garth Brooks doesn't have any tolerance for Bud Light boycotters.
What else needs to be said but:

Similar tale. Came to Palo Alto for a breast cancer charity, no star treatment, just a mensch.
I love Garth Brooks's new diverse Rodeo Song.
