Noem's plea is another case of "projection confession." The unidentified males arresting people are committing crimes: harassment, assault, kidnapping, imprisonment under false pretenses, and more.

"Federal immigration agents who detained at least 80 workers at a meatpacking plant in Omaha on Tuesday morning were met by angry bystanders who hurled rocks and insults at the caravan of vehicles as they departed. The scene was the latest example of increasing citizen resistance to immigration enforcement around the country.

"Tanya Roman, a spokeswoman for ICE, confirmed that the agency had executed a federal search warrant at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, and said it was likely the largest “worksite enforcement operation” to take place in Nebraska since January."

The owners, who hired the workers, are probably MAGA chuds and Trump donors ... funny how there's no mention of any penalties for them.

Like I said a million times before, start throwing some CEOs in prison for five years and that undocumented workers issue will end yesterday.

"military aged males"??

So is it terrorists or men who could be in the military? This makes no sense. I know, no shit, but these people are confusing.

Maybe I need to take a moment.

It's finally too warm and I am not used to it.

Maybe these shit heads gave me a headache, not the sun.

What’s really going on here? Wake up! The main goal for Trump and the GOP is simply to discredit the Democrats. Why? Because the Dems will fight them tooth and claw to defend Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans benefits and Social Security as well as education and environmental protection. The GOP and its donors hate these programs and figure now is the time to press their advantage since they hold the presidency, Congress and the Supreme Court. Their opening salvo is to slash Medicaid. But their bill cuts Medicare and raises working class taxes! They want even more, and next time social security will be hit.

To accomplish huge cuts to social programs, the GOP needs Trump. He’s the only one who can bamboozle the working class, especially whites, against Democrats. Their message is Dems want open borders, trans and gay rights, and abortion. Trump constantly says Dems are crazy and weak (not masculine strong). He shows strength against Democrats by targeting immigrants with ICE provocations and heavy handed military deployments. Trump claims Biden was weak and out of it but again, he’s strong and powerful. The message is clear as a bell, only Trump and the Republicans can lead the nation securely, effectively and competently. Democrats are elitist, anti American leftists. Naturally donors love Trump. No way Romney could rally the working class to the GOP. But Trump is reliable to keep the working class voting for Republicans. Of course his message lands because his racism, resentment and hatred are completely authentic! For the GOP, Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.

Now onto something more important today:

(OT, cross post, or whatever you want to call it, and I'll be posting it all day:)

I highly suggest printing this article out and carrying it with you wherever you might run into an old acquaintance that went MAGA. Ask them if they voted because of XFG's immigration policies. Then ask them if they voted to have the undocumented shipped to a third country known for using torture for kicks and giggles just because they are in the US illegally. Finally, point out that that is exactly what their Orange God King wants to continue doing and has gone to SCOTUS for "legal" permission. (Warning: be prepared for steam to come out your ears when reading this.)

"Trump asks the Supreme Court to neutralize the Convention Against Torture [headline]

Federal law states that the United States shall not “expel, extradite, or otherwise effect the involuntary return of any person to a country in which there are substantial grounds for believing the person would be in danger of being subjected to torture.” This law implements a treaty, known as the Convention Against Torture....

...

The Trump administration, however, claims it has discovered a loophole that renders all of these legal protections worthless, and is now asking the Supreme Court to explicitly give it the authority to make use of that loophole in order to enact its immigration policies.

...

... if that noncitizen is allowed to be deported, announce that the immigrant will be deported to some previously unmentioned country — even if that immigrant reasonably fears they will be tortured in that nation.

...

But the Convention Against Torture and the federal law implementing it forbid the government from deporting anyone to a country where there is good reason to believe they will be tortured. [A small taste of the story.]" https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/trump-asks-the-supreme-court-to-neutralize-the-convention-against-torture/ar-AA1GomVd [original behind paywall]

So all this talk about National Guards made me remember a march in Forsyth County, GA, in 1987. A week before a smallish group of people held a march on MLK day in this all white county and got rocks thrown at them. So this huge march was planned for the next week. And I thought I remembered that the National Guard (GA) was there, so I looked it up, and yes, indeed, they were, 2000 of them in riot gear. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987_Forsyth_County_protests). I do remember thinking it was a good thing they were there to protect the protesters as there were many white supremicists and KKK types in costume there. (Hateful people screaming how much they hated us). I did not realize that David Duke was there -- until I read the Wikipedia story. Ha ha, he got arrested, too.

I was there!

It was a blast. My friend, a photojournalism major, and I went up. Dropped acid and drank a half gallon of bourbon the night before, and blasted '60s tunes all the way up from Atlanta, so we were truly ready for a civil rights throwdown. I think we also drank beer all the way up there.

I had on a paisley sweater and black trench coat and Ray Bans, and "M" was similarly sartorial.

Random things what happened:

* We got out of the car and this guy was getting out of his and we had a conversation during the long walk to where the parade was cordoned off by a line of Nat. Guard troops standing a few feet apart; they were taking no chances on security. When we got there we slipped under the cordon and the guys bugged out because, for some reason, he assumed we were with him on the counter-protestor side.

* A dude in a Klan outfit and hood holding a toddler, in a mini Klan outfit and hood. "M" got a great photo of them.

* A metal object spinning through the air and hitting a girl in front of me. Blood spurting from her face as Nat Guards dragged her out to get medical assistance.

* Meeting people from as far away as San Francisco.

* Getting a big bucket of KFC in Forsyth afterward and the asshole employee giving us no napkins.

* On the drive up there were black figures hung in effigy from overpasses.

* The acid had not completely worn off. Because I got good shit back then from a Georgia Tech chemistry major. It was like rocket fuel for the mind.

Con: Coretta Scott King was an hour and a half late, meaning the march started that much later, and we really had to pee. "M" asked at a business if we could go in and the owner was like "No!"

We skipped out on the speechifying to take care of much needed business.

Your description of him made me think of Catch-22

“Major Major had been born too late and too mediocre. Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them. With Major Major it had been all three. Even among men lacking all distinction he inevitably stood out as a man lacking more distinction than all the rest, and people who met him were always impressed by how unimpressive he was.”
