Ta, Dok. It's all projection; all the illegal votes in TX, etc., were not noncitizens but Republicans who voted using their dead parents' ballots or on behalf of dead spouses and the like. GOTV and VOTE! With votes.

Ohio's Dave Yost did an audit and found a few hundred registrations over the last few elections (not specified how many elections) and 138 that voted and were referred for prosecution. Ohio has 8 MILLION registered voters. This week he announced 6 indictments - one of the indicted offenders died in 2022. So much posturing, so little backchecking.

Now tell us how many were reichwingers.

Hey, my takeaway from this is that the Real ID BS prevented non-citizens from registering and now we never have to worry about it again.

Sure, it might have also prevented thousands of actual Georgia and US citizens from voting too, but eh, details!

"the myth of noncitizens voting, like the myth of widespread voter fraud, is one jillion percent impervious to facts and evidence, because didn’t they see it on the TV? "

You know, I have to wonder how many Faux mouthbreathers honestly believe that does make it true, because after all, the man in the teevee wouldn't *lie* to them now would he? After all, we have laws against such things! ..not realizing that no, no we don't. What laws we once had were done away with by Ronnie Raygun, may his name forever be a curse word in our mouths, because Government Regulations Are Burdensome doncha know.

176 possible problems? That's kinda the same as 11,780, isn't it? I mean, for those who don't math very good. Or arithmetic very good. Or count very good.

Georgia is still the state where it's law that ANY election results deemed "suspicious" by local officials (for example, say, the Democrat winning) can be thrown out, and given to the (overwhelmingly Republican) state legislature to decide. Forget non-citizens voting, it's effectively illegal to vote Democratic in Georgia, and you don't see them doing anything about THAT

Good news - that was just blocked by a judge, whose name I cannot remember, but it will come to me. Anyway, he said, basically, "no, that's not how this works. You are required to certify the results by Date X. To do otherwise would be to ignore the voice of the people." (Or something to that effect.) It is, however, still illegal to hand out bottles of water to people waiting in line to vote.

AWESOME. I had not heard that.

Thankfully, the early voting location in my city was oriented in such a way that the entrance and the line that had formed outside was fully in the shade last Saturday.

"We only found 20." But we removed another 150,000, just to be certain.

I would like to know how much the audit cost because, you know, fiscal conservatism and all that jazz.

Here's where how you word things matters. Do you say "we found only 20" or "we only found 20". One sounds like you did a thorough search, the other sounds like you found some but there could be more. (and if any of the 156 others are non-citizens, MAGA will hue and cry about how "they just keep finding more! Just how many have they not found?")

It's like the "border crisis". If they say they've caught X thousand people crossing illegally or stop the smuggling of X amount of drugs, MAGA frames that as "sure that's what they caught. Just how much have they NOT caught?"

Now let’s crackdown on republicans voting using the names of dead relatives.

Now show me all the citizen voter fraud. Let's start next door in Florida...

"John Rider, 62, recently entered into a pre-trial intervention program that will allow him to avoid potential prison time if he successfully completes court-ordered requirements and refrains from violating the law.

Rider acknowledged his guilt as part of the agreement with prosecutors.

'The Parties agree that the first step in rehabilitation is to the admission of his wrongdoing,' the contract states.

Rider indicated in court papers that he plans to “buy out” his requirement of completing 50 hours of community service at a cost of $10 per hour"

Nice that guy can just pay $500 to buy out his community service time. I'm sure DeSantis' Election Cops won't bother the poor chap while he tries to quietly enjoy his retirement.

The system works exactly as intended.

Besides all the other issues this raises, is anyone else bothered by the fact that $10/hour is higher than federal minimum wage?

It is however lower than Florida’s current $13 minimum wage (2020 voters upped it gradually to $15 by 2026…which I’m shocked DeDumbass and his minions hasn’t found a way to overturn).

Tiny correction, it's not (just) TV that disinformation comes from. Social Media gets a shout-out, too, with people on the street in Springfield Ohio saying that it was the honest truth - they saw it themselves on social media...

(Tonight Show doing some vox pop in Springfield after something like a week's worth of argie bargie).

Now I am wondering how many R "early voters" will be really upset they can't simply vote TWICE, as all the illegal non citizens obviously do.

Fun Pennsylvania early vote fact:

42% of current Republican early voters were election day voters in 2020.

12% for Democrats.

Even assuming all 176 questionable voter registrations turn out to be FRAUD! and nefarious illegal activity, it’s 176 of 8.2 MILLION voters. That’s .00002%. So Loeffler and the wingnut talking heads are on it, making sure, as always, they freak out 40% of the population about the .00002%. It would be silly if it weren’t so destructive.
