Under 100 mile range and just over a 2,000lb payload.

I regularly haul 20,000-22,000lbs of trailer for longer distances than that. I regularly haul horse trailers 300-400 miles for competitions in the back country.

That chassis would be useless for my needs. That's the problem. AFAIK no one is working on anything close to a 1 ton replacement. 1/2 ton, sure. Even Ford is looking at a completely electric F150 soon. Full sized commercial rigs? Yes, but mostly for short haul at the moment because the battery tech isn't there yet.

I was thinking that depending on how far they traveled they'd have paid tolls. I just skimmed an article and it looks like they ended their trek a short distance from my friend's house and not too far from me. I'm sure the locals appreciated the extra traffic in an already traffic heavy area.
