This is excellent.

I assume that the "legality" is based on the notion that the "prom" is a private social event. If you throw a private party, you are allowed to control the guest list, as far as I know. I'm thinking here of wedding receptions, birthday parties, family reunions, etc.

Lawyers would have to tell me if this breaks down if you charge admission. Does that make it a commercial activity?

Dude, calm down. Head to East Atlanta Village, grab a taco and a beer, and try to forget the 150 idiot counties outside Atlanta exist. If you live in one of those counties, well. Buy beer and bar the door, try to outlast them like zombies.

Mm, I doubt that if you line the human genome up with the flatworm genome, you will get 99.7% correspondence.

Maybe if you compare to other primates, you might get 98%.

The thing is, despite markers, "race" is not an inherent genetic construct because every single one of homo sapiens sapiens can interbreed. We're all the same species (as opposed to, say, flatworms). Given enough time, all those markers will be homogenized, unless social forces act to restrict the interbreeding.

"Markers" in the genome are like last names . . . they suggest who your parents and grandparents and great-grandparents were. Funny thing is, the trail peters out at maybe 64 generations.

Nathan Deal is a straight racist and one of the worst Governors Georgia has ever had. He refused expanded medicare leaving thousands without any kind of healthcare at all. It also closed several of our rural hospitals leaving people having heart attacks and strokes up to 30 minutes from the nearest hospital. He follows his republican party rather than working for the people. I will be glad when we get this asshole out of office.

The kids WANT to be together. They are classmates and enjoy each other's company. I guess he thinks someone will get married on prom night. If they want to be together, they will do it outside of school anyway. Not until this country gets past racism where all are treated equally will we be a great country. We waste too much talent and hold certain groups back from reaching their true potential. Heck they fight wars side by side what is wrong with a little dancing?

Conservatives got rid of the voting rights act and they are trying segregation again in some schools.

They may be aware, but they don't give a rip. They'll do what they please and then scream "independent judiciary" if the President so much as farts in their general direction.

Apparently Governor Deal missed the class on "mealy-mouthed non-answers to sensitive social questions" at GOP orientation.

We're actually building the college football HOF in Atlanta right now. Deal had to tongue some powerful assholes to beat out other states for the bid. But seriously, this guy is why my NYC friends make fun of me for living here...
