The police chief of Peachtree City, Georgia, accidentally shot his wife early in the morning of New Year's Day. Initial reports of the shooting had said that Chief William E. McCollom had shot Margaret McCollom twice, which really would be a hell of an accident, but a correction issued by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation clarified that the "initial reports that we got from the 911 call" were in error. Chief McCollum had called 911 to report that he'd shot his wife, but it's unclear whether the inaccurate report of two shots came from him or the 911 dispatcher. We guess in all the excitement, he kind of lost track himself.

The 32,000 yearly gun deaths are just part of the price of our glorious Second Amendment. As well as the almost 75,000 people that are injured by firearms.
Our money is on “Kept gun under pillow...
"The 4:17 a.m. emergency call, which took place Thursday and was released today, has McCollom on the phone saying how "the gun was in the bed, I went to move it to put it to the side and it went off."
Yawn. Good guy with a gun ... blah blah blah.
Classic SYG: She had a sidewalk and knew how to use it.

One shot or two? I'm more used to hearing this question raised in golf, asking for a Mulligan. Also, whiskey.
wait until your dog digs up one of those squirrel carcasses a few months later and decides to roll in it
