The Salt Lake Tribune headlined this story thusly: "trump* taps Latter-day Saint as National Security Advisor." Yes, it doesn't matter that this guy is Bolton without the Mustache of War, it matters that he's a Mormon.

I see your point, but I'd argue that they headed to Crazytown under Reagan. Poppy Bush was the last semi sane Republican, and his party HATED him.

Yeah. As far off the cliff as they jumped with Gingrich, it was impressive in a disgusting sort of way that they managed to go even further with the Palin/TeaParty/Trump. It's like they strapped on a rocket pointing straight down, in mid-fall. 🤢
