This seems like a crack in the immunity narrative too. Feds never have "absolute immunity"... qualified immunity at best. Also, when these dudes lose their (probably not legally funded) status, they're even more on the hook personally for defense. (Long stories how I know).
Calling a bruise "internal bleeding" is technically correct but wildly misleading in this context. The rhetorical slippage here feels deliberate since most poeple associate internal bleeding with serious organ damage, not surface capillary rupture. I've seen similar linguistic games played in other high-stakes narratives where the goal is to reframe perception rather than inform. Pretty transparent strategy when video evidence contradicts the injury severity claims.
