The bastards, they killed Ted Danson!

"He told reporters yesterday that his family’s fight against the federal government is nothing less than the fulfillment of the “white horse prophecy,” a bit of Mormon religious ephemera holding that Joseph Smith supposedly prophesied that Mormons would rescue the US Constitution — which of course was inspired by God — from some unspecified future crisis."Wut.

Right. Definitions elastically fit the imagined circumstances. Thank you.

There's one or two in the area, but they're old bikers, so I just smile and don't judge.

DOJ has been pitiful since well before the tRump era. They're so scared of another "Waco" that they can't/won't even do their jobs.

WHEN this happens again, seems like they need to announce their intentions, and then just go in with heavy armor. The outcome in lives lost would probably be the same. One moron dead, give or take, and the rest shitting their pants. There'd have been less total shit left at the site. And we could have gotten back to talking about Hillary.

But let's just keep murdering black men for ... say ... sitting in a car.

I've worked for FEMA and they specialize in directing money away from its original intent towards whatever the heck they want. Also, incompetence. The Island of Misfit Toys could do a better job.

The best prosecutorial policy is to disclose all the evidence that they have.

Exactly.

A bit difficult since they're flat broke. Also, don't start a cattle ranch on hardscrabble desert!

Gee, prosecutors on those police procedural shows are always so competent.

Joseph Smith was probably concerned that slavery would be abolished and those uppity negroes would be considered free men when he prophesied that the Constitution would at some point hang as if it were by a thread,

I'm just remembering the other Bundy-related standoff in Alaska Oregon, where they occupied and trashed a center for a nature preserve there. And people sent them hundreds and hundreds of brightly colored dildos and messages like, "Practice safe sex!", and the dumb dude filmed himself getting all angry and sweeping all the dildos, so many dildos, to the floor in frustration. It was freaking hilarious. But of course, because America is currently warped and twisted, bad stupid people like Bundy get away with sedition and treason, because.. just a good ole boy? Never meaning no harm? The Dukes of Hazzard would be seditionist right-wing terrorists these days, if they were real. Unfortunately, there are plenty of real-world ones, just less good-looking, on the case, being assholes and Confederate traitors because they hate blacks, gays, feminists, liberals, Muslims, you name it. And they are the fucking worst, and our national media bows and caters to Cletus and his fuckhead clans. Really sick and unfortunate.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that we're not following you around and have snipers surrounding your property with 24 hour surveillance. Geez, could they try harder to make Bundy appear sympathetic.

This was my thought. Can we sue the Justice department for intentionally causing a mistrial and wasting my tax dollars?

Did you not get the memo? If it is in any way mean to the reich-wing or their corporate masters (or alternately, nice to dems and their brainwashed librul horde of poors) it are CONSPIRACY. Effectiveness at their jerbs has nothing whatever to do with it.
