It's time for us to take another sailing expedition to Evangelical Christian YouTube Fame Whore Island, to check in on our old friends Sam and Nia Rader, who are VERY good looking, and who SAYthey are (both of them, obviously) once again heavy with child.
Spouse was Coast Guard, son is Naval Avionics. Son would like to be a career petty officer, but they are tightening up over there, so he's holding on til his 15, which will be Dec 2018. His current enlistment ends Nov 2017, so then they'll likely decide. He has to make first class before then, but they need more billets, even though he's qualified. Sequestration has screwed them over for advancement, they are working with aircraft manufactured in 1982, and now they are doing away with the pension.This is why I cringe when I hear Miss Lindsay or McCain, or Trump, or Barry Bamz when I hear "boots on the ground."Nobody wants it.
As a person that identifies himself as a 'Mainer', I love me some coasties. Not so sure about the Air Force though, from what I have heard and read, that place is a straight up mess. Having had my own experience last year with the Air Force Inspector General lying right to my face, I hope things work out for your boy.
It sucks enough being enlisted even in peacetime with good leadership, service over the last 15 years has been the opposite of that.
Thanks! Btw, it's Navy, not Air Force. As the son says, the Air Force gets all the new toys. Naval Aviation provides support for the Marines, which put my kid in an FOB in Iraq x 2. He loves his job, but it's crazy-making for mom ; )
