Maybe? I'm not at all sure about the former part of your assertion, and even the latter half would require that people actually recognize they have an issue that can be address with mental health services, and then actually want to address them that way.
I don't know how or when the Powers That Be decided that teeth and eyes are not parts of the human body somehow for insurance purposes but its fucking insane.
Depression, like any psychological condition, is not not either/or. Everyone's psyche is unique, and the relative fitness of Fetterman, or your mom, or anyone else for elected office is not reducible to the label their illness and treatment are under.
And I know you don't need it, but I offer my condolences about your mom anyway. That sounds hard.
Much as I support Fetterman here, this just kinda reminds of how many jobs really don't afford the opportunity to prioritize mental health. Like, every job I've ever had. So, if you're lucky enough to get elected to Congress, take advantage of that health plan...even if your mental health issue is as obscure as pathological lying and grifting old Brazilians.George. Seriously though, good for Fetterman. Depression's a killer.
Do we want to do this? Because it always starts a fight, and i don't want to turn it into a fight that distracts from the positives regarding depression. But it involves a black jogger and a shotgun; that should be enough to Google for.

I love this guy. Godspeed, John Fetterman!
I'm a lawyer now, so that's a bit "shrinky" because you have to read people.
Absolutely, and add eye health too.

well as long as you're happy, that is all that matters
I found this helpful, from Noah Smith, who has had depression.https://noahpinion.substack...
Thank you. You are most kind.
As someone who has battled depression on and off, I'm glad Fetterman gave an interview to remove the stigma around it.We need more of that.
I would argue that it did, because he went and got the help — and if that is not an act of love and of strength, I don't know what is.
Can I get a "Hell, yes!" Thanks for saying this, Robyn.

Yes. I do not like the guy at all, but in this particular area, he's being a force for good, and I can applaud that.

Really! I thought he was on the right side of issues generally. I don't know a ton about him, though. What about him chafes yer chinos?

Hugs to my family in another universe!
