"The American people need to know that @ Lin_Manuel is intolerant of people who don’t agree with him politically."

Says the man who is happily intolerant of people who don't agree with him politically. Do these magaheads not realize how they sound? Insecure, petty, blowhards that apparently don't see that they are describing themselves exactly, in these kinds of "criticism"? To see every good and decent facet of US society, government, and culture be crushed into hateful, right-wing fanaticism, and propaganda, and indoctrination, and gaslighting, and an authoritarian disaster, is pitiless. An actual revolt against this insanity may be the only resistance possible.

"The American people" - AKA that sliver of the MAGAt voting base that wouldn't go see live theater if you paid them can go fuck themselves.

Intolerant of assholes that think they can tell the rest of us that the Constitution was a set of suggestions - that pretty much describes my attitude.

Marcie, with all respect, are you kidding? That poor pathetic self-deluding lump of mashed potatoes probably has news alerts set to "Miranda," so he can keep track in real time of the artist who lives rent-free in his head.

Miranda "can't work with Republicans," it's true. Specifically, he can't work with the type of Republicans who insist on muscling their way onto the board of a respected cultural institution while cutting its budget. Grenell knows this, he knows it's indefensible, and the internal conflict is eating him up inside, so he desperately lashes out at Miranda because he 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦.

Something finally cracked in me reading this.

Why, FFS, do people support drumpf and his odious cast of bad actors? Reading what Grenell said, apparently largely unchallenged in the popular press, staggers me. It's incomprehensible.

drumpf, j davenport vance, grenell, drunkboy hegseth, nazi barbie bondi, et cetera....why do voters think these people are in any fashion competent or worthwhile as leaders? The runup to the election made it startlingly clear what the GQP cretins would do, and none of it would help the average citizen. Shelves are clearing out bc of idiotic, alliance-destroying tariffs, and yet MAGA continues to assert that this administration is playing n-dimensional chess when in fact rudimentary checkers poses an obstacle.

Why can Ric Grennell make assertions about LIn-Manuel Miranda and cast without occasioning a reasonable, forthright challenge even within their own faction? Same with every other outrage. MAGA *has* to see that they're hurting themselves and their people with the authoritarian, racist, sexist crap, but they're doubling down every day.

I have a theory. They are deeply stupid and resentful that so many things that unqualified people used to be able to do are now jobs only available to the well-educated, including well-educated people of color and not just nepotism hires. So they just insist that nothing is as hard as the eggheads say. Anyone can be a teacher, board member, librarian, politician, doctor, etc etc.

One reason is that corporate mainstream media is complicit.

Another reason is the right [+piles of money, Russia] has cultivated a vast ecosphere of bullshit that rightwing dipshits can flagellate around in.

A third reason is that since slave states decided they needed lopsided representation to maintain slavery, our democracy has been artificially tilted in the favor of people who capitalize on the misery of the Other.

Which is to say they are relying on a lot of systemic advantages (and project when they decry cancel culture) in order to win with minority support for what they want.
