Never thought I’d see a right winger advocating for comprehensive moral confusion in schools. But it’s like 2022 and their shit hit the fan so long ago, there’s a prairie now where the splatter used to be
That doesn't address my point. The Brits, too (again - it wasn't only a USA issue (Patton), it was an AEF procedure) kept the survivors found in the concentration camps, establishing hospitals either inside the camp or next to it. The inmates were only let out after being medically cleared. A Displaced Persons camp is where former prisoners went after being cleared (and some were put in German houses in the cities). The DP camps not only contained Jews (1/4 million), but also slave laborers and former POWs, another 500,000+ people. Conditions in the DP camps were sometimes harsh. I've read the Harrison Report. It was from these facilities that the UN (UNRRA) processed the people, trying to get them home, or to a new home. As people left the camps, the remainder kept being consolidated. The last camp wasn't closed until 1959. Patton died Dec. 46.TL;DR When the camps were overrun by the Western Allies, the prisoners were kept in the camps for treatment. Then they went to DP camps for processing.
I may be retracing your steps. I googled that name and found James J. McCarthy on list of 9th Infantry Division 1944 Silver Star recipients. No details about what he did. But here is an article about the 9th I.D. operations in St Lo area: https://9thinfantrydivision...
If we aren’t fair and balanced toward Nazis, are we even America any more?
The party that wants to erase the civil rights and labor movements from our history books want to make sure we’re “neutral” toward the rise of fascism.
i'm not trying to pick a fight, but America has been 'flirting' with fascism for a long time, in fact since the 1930's - they're just bolder about it now
Looks like they're taking cues from Japan. There's a reason why most Japanese students have no idea what went on during WWII or even that they were allies with Nazi Germany. Anything that makes Japan look bad has been stricken from the curriculum for decades now.
Baldwin can "walk it back" all he wants, but he just outed himself as a Nazi. C'mon. What possible other reason could you have for introducing a bill that prohibits "taking a position" on Nazis and fascism??
But "Anti-Fascists" weren't flogged on the daily as the #1 enemy of America until Trumpism came along.
NH is doing the same. Koch funded. https://uploads.disquscdn.c...
I really like this. Thanks!

Bingo. That's the entire point of it all.

Gee, I wonder why?
Well, that was 5 minutes well spent.
We must be impartial on antidisestablishmentarianism.

Republicans aren’t flirting any more. They’ve past third base and are heading for home.

Dr. Strangelove?
