these chickenlittles have been promising the end of the world since the clean air act of 1963. Every time we've passed any sort of anti pollution legislation they've claimed the country would tank and every time they've been proven wrong. Also too, this isn't exactly Obummer's rules- SCOTUS ordered the EPA to regulate CO2 about ten years ago under GWBush. What part of illegal don't you polluters get?

<i>"we did not think that the “asthmatic people who have no access health care,” was a particularly large voting bloc"</i>

Neither does the GOP. End of discussion.

In space, nobody can hear you wheeze.

Of course not. The GOP dream goes like this:

In today's US America, you just call 911, and people miraculously appear, take her to the hospital, and a team of crack surgeons re-attaches her fingers in a heroic 9-hour operation. And if she's poor and has no insurance, it doesn't cost anything!

Faux News covers it as a heartwarming story of how great America is. If she's white.

If she's an undocumented Messican, of course, it's a complete waste of America's resources, cost us a million dollars, and is the wingnut outrage of the week.

Hey, it's not the jerb creator's fault that the workers are all <strike>hacking</strike> lazy hacks.

Of course, the only way to cut carbon dioxide emissions from coal plants by 30% is burn 30% less coal. (C + O2 --> CO2, doh.)

Anybody want to hazard a guess as to how the coal-diggin' Kochroaches will respond?

The Koch brothers make a shitload of money selling coal. Any other questions?

Are there even that many coal miners in the US? All of the new power plants, evidently, will be put up without workers.

Imagine their delight over killing 6,600 with pollution!

<i>"If there was even a 1 percent chance of terrorists getting a weapon of mass destruction, the United States must now act as if it were a certainty."</i> -- Dick Cheney

Admittedly, Cheney is wrong about absolutely everything but let's allow him this bit of wisdom and apply it to climate change. <blockquote>If there was even a 1 percent chance the scientists are right, the United States must now act as if it were a certainty.</blockquote>

The two nearby coal power plants give us AWESOME sunsets.

If they want to shut down the government again...and get whalloped about it again...and have to give in because the public is even less likely to buy the fig leaf, again...I say by all means proceed. At least it'll be better than most reality TV.

I seem to recall we scrounged up two trillion dollars for some wars. By comparison, this EPA thing is a bargain.
