Ok, so can we expect Greg Abbot to announce that Texas will be returning all funds for Texas because it's just a blue state ballout? Or will these puds shut their filthy whore mouths??
Not necessarily. I was an independent until 2008. I have never voted for a republican in my life. If I remember correctly, it's a pretty even split. Someone on NPR a couple years ago said that independents are actually more reliable party line voters than registered voters from either party.
John Kass is the Uber-asshole. Clearly the last four years have done something to all their brains, wherein they think if they can't hear the President screaming at someone, he must be in hiding. Maybe he's just, I dunno, working.
And, here I thought Republicans didn't care any more about policy. I can't think of a more perfect policy for the Republican party to genuinely and passionately promote, during the time of COVID, than eliminating the estate tax. Jebus how fucking awful, clueless, heartless, oh I could go on forever with this, are these jagholes?
Where's the work requirement for inheritors? If there isn't a work requirement inheritors are just lazy moochers who didn't earn it. Maybe Democrats should introduce a bill called the "No Free Handouts for Moochers Act" whicha)Raises the estate tax to 100% on wealth over 10 million dollarsb)Bans ALL government subsidies of big corporations
Maybe follow it up with a Ban Cancel Culture and Protect Free Speech Act, whciha)Bans at-will employmentb)Caps author-owned copyright at the lifetime of the author, and employer-owned copyright at 20 years.c)Repeals the CASE act, SESTA-FOSTA, and Section 1201 of the DMCAd)Changes Section 512 of the DMCA to ban knowingly false accusations of illegal speech.e)Overturns state laws banning schools from teaching content that Republicans hate.
And let's not forget, a Tough on Crime bill stating thata)When a large corporation violates worker saftey regulations or eviromental regulations, the CEO and major shareholders get life in prison without possibility of parole. b)When a police officer kills an unarmed civilian, they get life in prison without possibility of parole.
In unrelated news, Republicans are introducing a bunch of state laws to make it illegal for trans people to get health care (typically with workarounds for people who can afford private jets). Tell your senators to make sure the Equality Act includes a provision overturning state restrictions on gender-affirming health care and abortion (unless your senators are Republicans, in which case please don't let them know that there's another tool in the arsenal of ways to attack trans people).
EDIT: Oops, I almost forgot to propose the Repeal Obamacare and Replace it with Something Terrific Act, which adds a public option and rewords the section that says "established by the state" which Scalia claimed invalidated the entire bill.
I mean, didn't we just have an article hear about how someone is paying a bunch of money to "own the first tweet?" That sounds an awful like made-up titles.
This is a genius idea. Let us straightaway gofundchangeorg a petition to Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to introduce a work-requirement for millionaires bill. Postehaste.
Have you considered selling off titles of nobility? A lot of royal families got their wealth that way!

The only ones doomed are the ones whose land was stolen from them by White people, and with state-sanctioned approval.
The BLACK ones.
Do you have a link for this? I'd love to learn more.
Like THAT'S new.

The last four years have taught me the estate tax should be 100% on anything over a couple million, and that’s probably being generous.

I'd think the real money would be in selling letters of marquee and reprisal
