You’re neither the hero we want nor the hero we needNor a hero in any sense of the word. And like all weasels, he did marginally correct things only out of convenience under the freedom of an impending retirement, facing no consequences, and then too in restrained terms.

I don’t know why the president tweets out things that are not trueLike there. A slightly less of a weasel would have said "I do not know why the president lies"

Here, when asked about birtherism in 2009:

In an appearance on MSNBC's "Hardball" Monday, U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said he thinks that the question of whether President Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen is "a settled issue.""It appears to me that our president is a citizen," Sen. Corker told host Chris Matthews. But Tennessee's junior senator said he was glad folks have the freedom to raise the question."We've received lots of letters in our office from birthers," he said. "They're heart-felt. I happen to feel differently about the issue, but I'm glad we live in a country where people can raise issues that concern them like that."Familiar, right? He used those racist ads against Harold Ford Jr. with a similar level of ambivalence, and he only now turns on Drumpf after considering being his VEEP not too long back, and keeping his mouth shut against all the racism, misogyny and xenophobia.

Fück this guy!

Corker is a Profile in Courage.

There is no other Republican at his level or higher that is so direct and critical in his very public shaming of Trump. We should support him for this. It's badly needed.

The birther thing, this doesn't bother me. He's not a birther. He has a strange constituency that have certain rules. That's all this is.
