Come on, don't be like that.

All these lone-star ya-hoos getting felonies left and right, being arrested by the nosy feds for patriot acts, well folks, it hits them boys hard.

So, for the sake of them not being denied a single thing, they propose the Texas government (sic) needs to let them do whatever they want, as they see fit, as the Lard intended. Or else.

Also announced: a new bill to increase cops danger pay to quad-triple. Included is a fat stimmy package/welcome home party for when LaPierre comes limping home.

We also are proud to announce that there are 'Free iPhones' for anyone wanting to be a Texas Wal-Mart greeter that tells the redhatters they can't pack at the door. You can say good-bye to loved ones while you bleed out.

Next on the agenda: a proposal to make our newest Texas textbooks (sic) with kevlar covers, since they are so thin now.

I noticed that. How's "woke" doing in the wingnutosphere? Out here in the real world, every time I see or hear it hurled as an insult, I think, "Meh."

Why do they all have to sound like they swallowed Foghorn Leghorn?

From the viewpoint of the commonwealth of western industrialized democracies, America always has had a blind spot when it comes to gun control.

Other nations have effectively dealt with this issue . . . America has not.

And that is something I have been aware of for a VERY long time now, harking back to that moment in history when, as a 15 year old growing up in England, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy seared itself into my memory, making me aware of the "American problem" for the very first time.

About that Texas law: can a citizen openly carry a loaded gun into the governor's official residence? the state legislature building? a state/county courthouse? a state university classroom? a county school? the county jail? Serious, can a business owner prohibit guns on the property and inside the business?

Yes, I'm triggered.

The NRA released this nonsense on the same day the Republican-dominated legislature in Texas approved a Yosemite Sam measure that would allow people to carry a handgun without a license, a background check, or training.

A bunch of unlicensed, untrained, unstable and/or violent people having even more ready access to all of the high-powered firearms. What could possibly go wrong?

Law Wonks: how is this even legal? Aren't there federal background requirements for gun sales outside of private sales/gun shows? Is this just another round of unconstitutional Republican bullshit that will (hopefully) get struck down in court?

Is that near Gun Barrel?

Yeah, but this isn't about sales, it's about being able to have your metal security blanket close to hand at all times, without worrying about the gub'ment interfering with your Gawd-given right to have the option to shoot someone who looks at you funny.
