I'm tired of these thuggish, Yowknapatawpha-style politics!

Some real life stories have characters that are all losers and no winners. The Other Woman started working for the Senator in 1981, but his wife wasn't placed in a care facility until 2000?

Agreed that she is well cared for. And it's understandable the Senator doesn't wish to divorce her, but he does want to go on living.

That isn't a licence of use the taxpayers' money to fund his love life - IF the accusations are correct. And so far they remain silly gossip, not fact.

Pretty much everyone loses here - the Senator for something between poor judgment at one end and criminal behavior at the other, the Senator's wife, the Senator's employee, the people who report about it, the jerk who broke into an extended care facility. All losers. Kind of like the Iraq War.

Agreed. IF he is in a relationship with the woman who works for him (and the taxpayers, of course) it would have been smart for her to go get a job somewhere else.

The Big IF.
