Why isn't Mercedes sponsoring wind farms? The branding is right there! As we all know, Republicans believe in the free market and hate the idea of Big Government picking winners and losers in the economy. Which is why the House version of the tax cuts for the rich bill
One of the reasons natural gas is kicking ass in the energy production department is because it takes 1,000 employees to run a 1,000-kilowatt coal-fired power plant. (Same goes for nuclear.) The staff needed at a 1K KW combined-cycle gas plant? Thirty. So even beyond the cost per KW of the fuel, the labor costs are reduced by 97 percent.
This makes coal plants start to look like a make-work program.
(If anyone cares, "combined cycle" means you harvest the heat from the gas exhaust to create more steam for the turbines.)
Pray tariffs don't happen, anyway. Tariff wars are one of the potential ways that the global economy could slide further toward collapse and chaos. They're another of those "proven!" policies, like trickle-down economics. Proven, yes. To not work as intended.
Y'all also have like the largest per-capita hydro production in the world, don't you? Also (relatively) clean (disregarding potential environmental consequences of damming streams).
The Tax Bill is a 'fuck you' to America. Republican donors demand something get passed and Republican senators and reps don't give a tinker's damn abut screwing the American people - at least those over 17.
Only third. There used to be more - every waterfall near a town had its own generator - but none of them were compatible with the rest of the system and were shut down. Shame, really.
Trump just making more profits for China, who will be way ahead of us in renewable energy if this happens. In return, Trump will likely get 30 pieces of personal real estate options in China.
Don't tell Scott Pruitt, but people have been secretly infusing coal dust and fracking waste into the EPA offices water coolers and bottled water, Shhhhhhhhhh
Indiana has a TON of windmills. Oh, well, dipshits, you gave us Pence, and now you've fucked yourselves, too.
Mmmmm . . . do-nuts . . .
Fuck that guy.
Everyone knows that pussy jobs that pay the same salary as manly jobs still generate less economic activity. It's science.
Fun fact I learned this week:

Yeah,no.
Eliot is quoting Conrad there. It's from Heart of Darkness.
"Double taxation" is only bad when it applies to billionaires' estates. Or to their dividends.

Too many dinosaurs in the upper echelons who still subscribe to Reefer Madness.
