The Mayor has actually done some good things in his tenure. But people forget, because he is so graceless. He's always been a Trump-hater, though. I think of him as our surly giant. He's surly to everyone, but he's ours.
Yeah, I still like him! Maybe if I had a better NYC mayor to compare him to I would like him less, and he certainly puts his foot in his mouth, but he's also done a lot of substantively good things for the city.
It gets an eyeroll from me in the vein of, "Maybe just pay them more if they're such heroes?" But I don't think anyone here in the city thinks de Blasio is, like, actively planning a parade.
I did go to the parade for the women's US soccer team, which was fun. Seeing him on a float with them was weird but I guess that's a perk of being mayor.
I thought casino drinks were reasonably priced, because they want to keep you on the floor. (The only time I got ripped off on drinks in Vegas was at a show. We hadn't realized we were looking at nightclub pricing.)
Only way I can imagine doing fireworks without the crowds would be to do it in the middle of the ocean and recording it from another ship a distance away, with minimal employees on both ships. Then the only way people could see them is to either own a boat or watch on TV.
The best show not on TV and one of the best shows ever.
Harsh but fair.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
I guess you don't live in NYC anymore but a lot of people I know are in fact a bit sad about summer things that have already been canceled.
None of us care about fireworks though.

I still like him more than Cuomo.

It will be if we give up now.

Careful, you might give The Orange God an idea ...

Why did so many people vote for Trump?
Don't know. Haven't been there since I watched the first moon landing while in Central Park and that's a looooong time ago.
But shortly I understand. Takes a while to build to a climax!
