Gov. Sam Brownback Only Raised Taxes On Poors, So It Doesn't Count, Right?

You know that thing about how Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback is the worst governor in the entire galaxy, and how he bankrupted Kansas with his fucked up tax cuts for the wealthy, but then Kansas voters reelected him because they're idiots? And lately, he's been doing everything he can to fuck the poors of his state right good (even though it costs the state millions ), by making sure they don't have equal access to education, and that they can only take $25 in EBT moneys from the ATM per day, paying an ATM fee each and every time? Well he's been in quite a pickle because Kansas Ain't Got No Money, and you can only suck off the teats of welfare queens so long, 'cause they ain't got no money either, so he had to raise taxes, but not on the wealthy, oh no! The very thought of that makes him emotional. 

Brownback raised sales taxes and cigarette taxes, and guess who that hits the hardest? Uh huh, fuck the poors. But don't you DARE accuse him of raising taxes, just because he raised taxes:

Democrats have called the $384 million tax plan the largest tax increase in state history.

Brownback pushed back against that, saying it was not a tax increase because it comes after tax cuts.

“Look at the totality of the picture,” he said. “When you look at that, it is a tax cut.”

See? He gave to the rich so he could steal from the poor. That's not "raising taxes," that's just redistributing wealth to the wealthy, which is what the Republican translation of the Bible says to do. Because see, look at these numbers:

People making less than $23,000 a year will pay an average of $197 more a year in overall taxes when this year’s changes are weighed against the previous tax cuts, according to [ an analysis by the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy]. People making between $23,000 and $42,000 will see an average overall increase of $66.

But people making more than $493,000 — the top 1 percent of Kansans — will pay $24,632 less in taxes even when this year’s tax increase is included, according to the institute.

But problem solved, right? Kansas budget saved? All the rich bitches of Kansas gonna pull out their stationery and write thank you notes to welfare recipients, for saving their asses? Haha, no, Brownback's taxincreasesCUTS only get Kansas back in the black until the beginning of the 2016 fiscal year, which starts ... let's look at the calendar ... oh, next month! Then Kansas lawmakers will have to fix it more, probably by cutting more funding for schools, that's the ticket:

Brownback repeatedly touted K-12 education during the news conference, but he would not definitively say that cuts to K-12 education would be off the table. [...]

The governor said he had not decided what to cut, with one exception. When he signed the budget, he made a line item veto based on a recommendation from the Kansas Board of Regents, cutting $1.9 million both this coming year and the next for a program that grants funds to postsecondary institutions that provide GED accelerators for students.

Now, the director of THAT PARTICULAR PROGRAM says they don't really need the money anyway, but since we're used to the way Brownback thinks by now, we're just gonna guess he might just slash more funding for schools, or maybe he'll defund the judiciary some more.
