Step one - knock of the bs drug laws. Black market drug trafficking is driving a lot of gang activity.Step two - go back in time and prevent Reagan's policy of interfering in Central American governance. If action is needed, appeal to the UN Peacekeeping forces. Not perfect, but surely better than US simply stepping in and saying "we need more money, so let's you and him fight."

Australia (married an Aussie). It's literally as far away from everything as you can get and still have electric power.

And it's not far enough.

Ugh... forgot to post my update, and I lost it. Apparently URM is different from UAC, which is what they're calling the babby concentration camps. URM is for kids who are officially refugees. The problem seems to be that there's no way to foster these new kids getting ripped from their mommies.

My next step is to contact the only two groups authorized to do the UAC stuff, the Lutherans and Catholics. Why there are no atheists who have been approved to participate in the program is beyond me.

Also, I just found out that Latvia closes its orphanages during the summer and ships the kids off to whatever countries will take them. A little off topic sorry.

Sorry for replying to myself, but I wanted to update. URM is only for kids who have been allowed to seek asylum here. The concentration camps in Texas are part of a different program, called UAC. Only some of the UAC kids make it into URM.

There isn't a way for the average patriotic American to foster these kids, as best I can tell (so Laura Ingraham can bite my shiny metal ass). The program is being assisted by the Lutherans and Catholics, and basically nobody else. It's really creepy to me that no non-religious groups have been authorized to participate.

I'm off to USCCB website to try to learn more. This is really too complicated.

I know that some Americans will never vote Democrat, but the sheer amount of obviously disprovable lies from the White House has to give at least some of them pause. This is utterly inhumane. This is on you Trump. You can stop it at any time. It's you causing life-long trauma to kids. Any respect for America has gone down the toilet. (Not the good Americans who are protesting).

I did leave. But I am still terrified. There is nowhere on this planet far enough away to avoid the fallout of the collapse of American democracy.

Actually, they already have a name: Confederates.

This is the Second Civil War. It may be fought with ballots or bullets, but there is no mistaking that it is a battle for the soul of the nation and the survival of democracy.

I don't think so. I think the more brazen his lies, the more they believe he will actually restart the Confederacy.

They want slavery back. It's just that simple. And the worse Trump gets, the closer they get to slavery. That is why they cheer every despicable thing he does.

Actually they objectively call it terrible. Given the amount of horse-racing optics crap that normally comes from these places, that is a truly astounding sentence.

Give them a few months of increasing horribleness, and thsoe 27% will also support a final solution.

I used to wonder how cosmopolitan, sophisticated Germany fell captive to Hitler.

Now I know.

You are not the only one. And I am 9,000 miles away, in a different country.

It is still overwhelming. That 27% of the USA supports caging children feels like the kind of thing you just can't come back from.
