Of course there was racism. The very Constitution from which these "laws", such as they are, derive their authority has it built into its fabric.
They wanted a civil war when they fired on Fort Sumter (their great-great-great-great-grandpappies, anyway), and they've been itching for a do-over ever since. All they needed was a Confederate sympathizer in the White House.
My late RWNJ father and brother and I didn't agree on much of anything, but we were all appalled at handing out military gear to cops and no-knock warrants.
I don't think there is any rationale to be ugly to people who are just seeking knowledge. And honestly, these days there is so much awful news one has to tune out at some point to save one's sanity. The humor and warmth I usually experience on Wonkette has been a blessing.
Funny how the cops are declared to have dispensed justice, but the cities always end up paying large settlements to the cops' victims/surviving family.
I want to hear more about how the cops got a super shady warrant to break into Taylor's home because they thought she might be holding her ex's money, and were hoping to take some of it for themselves.
And the claims that this was part of an ongoing campaign of police harassment coordinated with local landlords wanting to gentrify the neighborhood.
