For what it's worth, Comey was not indicted, and that's one of his grounds for asking the court to dismiss the charges. They did an apparently very hinky information, not signed by the US Attorney nor approved by a judge. You can get a better explanation from Joyce Vance at https://joycevance.substack.com/p/the-day-every-judge-ruled.

To date, everyone in The Felon in Chief's orbit has been deeply flawed. It makes me a bit skeptical about Hutchinson. Perhaps she's the exception that proves the rule. Perhaps they misjudged her level of crazy.

What scares me is that now that the Trump junta has demonstrated the possibility of bringing authoritarianism to the USA, that someday someone who is actually competent will pick up the mantle and carry it through to completion.

Sure would be funny if Dhillon were disbarred for harassment and repeatedly filing frivolous charges.

IANAL, but maybe D'ohKeefe has an insanity defense here?

What sane person would commit a felony and then post incriminating evidence online?

Lady Vorpal relates a story from her Criminal Law prof back in her law school days who would outline a case and describe the moronic actions of the accused and warn the class that 'remember, criminals are very, very stupid.'

What’s the line about a decent prosecutor being able to get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich? Apparently Yamtits’ personal government law firm can’t even manage that.

I can’t believe how incompetent these idiots can ACTUALLY be…

I'm re-reading "The Third Reich at War."

When the armaments minister died in a plane crash, Hitler appointed Albert Speer, who had no relevant experience -- no experience in weapons, no military experience -- to the job.

He had a habit of appointing people who had no qualifications to positions. Speer also was a devoted Nazi and Hitler's only friend, or the closest thing he had to a friend, so that may have may have played a role, and Speer just happened to be at Hitler's eastern military HQ when the previous guy died and was in the fuhrer's sight, so to speak.

In that instance, Speer did an exceptional job. It's been estimated that his work increasing Germany's arms production extended the war by perhaps as much as a year.

The guy he replaced had just told Hitler in February 1942 that Germany had absolutely no chance of winning the war: Britain and the Soviets were both churning out more tanks, planes and everything else than Germany and that the US was going to truly bring staggering amount of production online.

Remember, there exists NO bottom here. The capacity for chicanery and heinous aspersions are off the damned charts.

I have always believed her account of what happened in Jan. 6, which I witnessed unfolding in real time with my lying eyes, but then again, I do suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I too watched in real time. No spin. No "context". Its amazing and horrifying how much of the public and electorate doesn't get it or doesn't care.

I will always chuckle at "Resting Blanche Face".

It sometimes bears repeating just how petty and stupid they are:

Literally no one with the commons sense of a housefly would have even attempted to bring this. This was a tiny mostly forgotten part of the horrors of January 6th, and she almost certainly told the truth of what happened when President tiny baby hands lightly massaged secret service neck

https://i.imgur.com/a8DaA3l.gif

Most importantly. It reminds people everyone the horrors of January 6th that you absolutely should be in jail for over a petty stupid childish feud with someone who has no power and is not a threat to you.

And you failed at that

As of right now, the fascists seem compelled to keep up appearances to some extent. Taking cases to Grand Juries, and charging them in courts. Pretending that they're just following the process.

Even their pet Grand Juries and handpicked judges aren't going along with them, they're getting so far out of line. Judges understand that their status and importance depends on people buying into the process, so they, or at least many of them, still care about things like facts and process.

I worry about what happens starting next Wednesday.

I’m guessing this ended up at the civil rights division because no other DOJ lawyers would touch this case, including Judge Boxwine.

Maybe they were auditioning her replacement.

If you are a billionaire, they let you do it. Buy 400 homes, build a huge AI center, make another billion selling access to it, buy more homes elsewhere, build another data center, then buy a bunch of politicians as elections near, and get government contracts worth billions more. Life is good, ain't it?

Soon, there'll be a few hundred megabillionaires and the rest of us rubes, living in tents. Or the woods. Forget the woods; they will disappear due to climate change. Maybe caves? We'll go back to the caves.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/oct/28/datacenter-noise-lawsuit-elon-musk-mississippi

"People in a Mississippi neighborhood, many of whom dislike a nearby power plant central to Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence ambitions, have received a stark offer – to sell their houses to his company and make way.

Real estate agents have been going door to door in Southaven, Mississippi, on behalf of xAI, touting a deal to purchase houses as long as the owners agree to not join a lawsuit against the company over the power plant’s noise. (Musk’s AI company officially became SpaceXAI in July and has lately been rebranded as SpaceXSI but to neighbors of the datacenter in Mississippi, it remains xAI.)

"This plan could potentially swallow up almost the entire neighborhood of Colonial Hills, on the western flank of Southaven. A realtor told one resident there is a target to purchase 418 homes, with 18 homeowners already agreeing to sell, according to a recording of a conversation heard by the Guardian

I was reading about two data centers coming to Georgia. One will have 200 hundred-plus on-site diesel generators; the other will have more than 300.

Each of those generators can produce enough power for 2,000 homes. That's a big fucking generator.

Can you imagine the noise? The goddamn pollution that will be produced?

And I'd bet my 'nads that the nearest neighbors of these monstrosities will be poor people, probably minorities if the companies can swing it. Because this is 'Murca.

EyeQueue's avatar

They'll rezone those areas into "opportunity/acceleration zones" and give people some kind of financial incentive for living among noise and filth and disease and cancer-causing substances.

This right here.

It's so nice to have a lede photo of a woman who worked in the regime not have a MAGA/Mar-A-Lardo face. I'm glad Ms. Hutchinson been TOTALLY EXONERATED!!

SkeptiKC's avatar

I shall continue to believe that Ms. Hutchinson was so thorougly perturbed by the egregious dishonor of the GOP that she chose to become a registered Democrat.

This communist with a small "C" has a vivid imagination.

And with this it's time to ring up one of the rightwinger millionaire/billionaire funded farm teams for yet another clownshoes lolyer to be called up from the minors.

But alas, America's Pilonidal Cyst is the law, so even if you serve him you will be destroyed. What matters for him is winning the moment and chilling dissent.

Too bad so many people don't learn that lesson. Good on Hutchinson for doing the right thing. And this kind of situation can't be cheap for the targets.

"...Resting Blanche Face angrily protesting that they’re not trying to steal the Alaska Senate race, while they are clearly trying to steal the Alaska Senate race — with an assist from the New York Times;..."

Even if the NYT is right and the Alaska Dems did recruit a ringer Dan Sullivan, what this shows is that MAGAts think their voters are so stupid that they'll be unable to read the party designation under the candidate names.
