I spent 7 years walking the very streets that the McCloskey's live on, and yes, they are blocked from traffic and have a tiny (I mean tiny) gate that was always open. The one side is on the business side of these sidewalks (they live in what is known as the Central West End, or CWE) and they end on either Newstead or Boyle, on the other side of the W. End. I have walked these little street a million times, and not once did my translucently cracker ass get a bit of pushback; rather, I had people in their yards that stopped me to pet my pups (Border Collie and Boxer, so you can guess how much they loved the attention). This is one of the "nice" neighborhoods in the city (this is also where the cops threw flash bang grenades into a pizza parlor on the Euclid side and stormtrooper stomped around yelling "whose streets, our streets" when they wilded out after a cop basically said he was going to murder a guy, got into a 100 mph chase in downtown St. Louis (it's like, 25 mph through those streets and no one seems to be worried about lights or lanes), dude crashed out, cop got his PERSONAL gun out of the back seat (BIG no-no) and shot the dude in the head, got let off with no punishment and led to major protests). This city is truly and irredeemably fuct up, and I don't think there's anything that will fix it, we'll just keep becoming more of a joke, and asshats like the McClosky's don't help.

This morning on MoJo, they observed that Ron Johnson - the Stupidest Republican this side of Tommy Tuberville - had severely criticized the proposal to create this blatant payoff for terrorists of the extreme right. I am going to confidently predict that, maybe as soon as today, he will walk that back and he will lock his lips on Trump's shriveled pecker again.

The George Santos who lived, even after getting the COVID vaccine? That George Santos?

If just 5% of American citizens applied for this, it would take 30 years to go through all the paperwork.

Mrs McCluskey was my Halloween costume that year. Stripey shirt with mustard stain and tinfoil pistol. No one got to see it in person. $1 million please.

Wait a minute. We have to personally write to (Acting) Attorney Todd Blanche? Like on paper? Sent in an envelope with a stamp attached?

I wanted a website to crash. One with lots of flags and eagles and gold and shit.

I put up with so much.

Ta, Gary. I was job hunting before, during, and following That Thing in the Offal Office 1.0 and since I could get piss tested even for temp work (I know!), I suffered the entire four years of the first iteration of it sans cannabis. Will have to strategize with my sweetheart and consult our attorney to figure out how much of that 1,776 I deserve for my pain and anguish.

Please bear in mind that Trump has a long, long, LONG history of promising money and then just flat never paying. Probably 99% of the people applying are never going to see a dime. The majority of the money is going into Trump's own pocket and a smaller portion will be going to people he wants to bribe.

My take is, he'll dangle that carrot out there long enough to gin up the MAGA votes, then there will be delays and problems (caused by Democrats, of course)., and then after a few weeks, nothing.

The only thing he hates more than Democrats, is having to let go of money.

"On the other hand, anyone can apply."

Should about 10 million of us apply?

I will never understand why Trump would commute Santos's sentence. NOBODY likes Santos, he is not useful to anyone.

He has a certain value as an obfuscator.

I can't deal with these people. They turn everything upside down.

Round them all up on RICO charges.

OT

So, does the Strait of Hormuz matter anymore ? Is a thing of the past I guess. You don't mention it and is no more.

And the Epstein files are at the bottom of the strait

You mean the billion dollar a day distraction from the Trump-Epstein files and the rape of children by we know who?

So, Senators and Representatives are eligible for making claims. And since they don't have to disclose who receives funds, why wouldn't they? Oh look, here comes Congressman Shirtsleeves, Gym Jordan.

Brilliant comparison to a fund to reimburse the 9/11 terrorists. There really are such funds for the families of all dead Islamist terrorists, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

This administration increasingly seems like a mirror image to the Revolutionary Guards in Iran.
