We had ONE death several months ago at our local jail, and people have been outraged since--I mean, all the powers that be have been all up in the jail's business and investigating and changing certain procedures immediately, suspending people, etc. And that's an inmate, who was actually convicted of a crime. One human being. Yet all of these innocent kids die (and also are locked up) and the government's all "yeah...things."*Deep Breaths*
My (adopted) kid is biracial (half Mexican). All these kids look like my kid. My heart is broken to pieces. I want to go there and save them. ALL of them. I need to.
So they illegally detained a child (another child) and let him die through a combination of evil and incompetence and the president shrugs and says its the opposition party's fault. Nothing to do with his corrupt racist cruel regime.I may give up reading the news and just repeatedly smash my head into a wall instead. In the long run it will be less painful and frustrating.
I swear that I've seen them building an immigrant holding pen in the parking lot of one of the Albuquerque Wal-Marts out of shipping containers, chain-link and barbed wire. The one at Rio Bravo and Coors Rd.
A lot of these migrants have been in desperate circumstances for while before they came to the border. Not only are they exposed to poor hygiene conditions, their bodies' immune systems are compromised by malnourishment, stress, lack of sleep, lack of medical care and access to medicine. It's not surprising that even a 16 year old would succumb to the flu under these circumstances, combined with the medical neglect he received upon arrival. So heartbreaking. We need to focus on aiding these countries.
