He is one of the "regular order" in the senate guys, like McCain. And he says he made that stand for that reason, not because of the encounter in the elevator. Because of the warped process for example, hearing her, then scheduling the vote for next day.

That means Mr. Trump will have to talk in a deposition. So will his family. Thank you Democrat senators, esp, Richard Blumenthal of CT.

He's an odious guy and so homely. And he's a sex criminal too, according to that admirable woman whose youth was stolen from her. She was not scared to speak but it was not enough. He's a terrible snob too, as we've seen. Deep down I bet he thinks he's just as vital to this country's prestige and well-being as Brett Kavanaugh seems to, so watch out if he's sued, we may see more yelps and outraged tears running down the rosacea. Eeew

I wish they could have found their way to old Farmer Grassley, the Salt of the Earth of Iowa. That Giant Mole Rat of the Corn Fields. He doesn't stop to wonder about a thing-- ever. He just knows what's right and isn't troubled. Cause he's the Salt of the Earth. Hm, picture him having to kill time somehow, while they cried at his face and kept him from getting past them. Or, he would have just pushed past. They're not the kind of thing he worries about-- whoever they are-- or that the folks in Iowa worry about. Not the ones he knows anyway. Criminently, what's the problem anyway??

He says they didn't. He says he couldn't stand how crappy and one-sided the process was.

This country has sowed the wind and we're going to reap the whirlwind!! Because we weren't nice to Brett, who played football, and had a father who always kept a diary, and taught his son to keep a diary! All among fine upper middle class people-- understand??? It's just a tragedy for America.

It's what people-- specially high school guys-- always say about girls they admire.

I think she sounded so frantic, it reminded him of his daughters when they were little girls. Because she was spiraling and that got to be more distracting that what she was saying, to me. He will never vote yes on this man.

I agree. I called his office to thank him. He didn't have to do this, and it took guts for him to stand up to Grassley and the other decrepit, callous old farts on that committee. I really do think he has a conscience (there's a reason he's retiring), and it finally got the better of him! We need to reinforce this sort of thing. Those women were powerfully brave, and I think they got through to him on a human level.

Fucking A. I am deeply flawed, like everyone else. I don’t lie about it and mouth off to United States Senators to try to make myself look innocent.

"I think it's the threat to vote no on the floor, which (not having votes) is what will keep Mitch from moving ahead."

Flake could have said something along the lines of "Without an FBI investigation, I cannot in good conscience give Judge Kavanaugh a positive recommendation going out of committee, nor can I vote to confirm him."

That's even stronger, and gives less room for either Grassley or McConnell to try and weasel out of an investigation. It lets him claim more of the high ground with independents, while not doing any more damage to his cred with Republicans than he's already done.

But why would that happen? I never do this from my phone--always on a computer. Sometimes it embeds and sometimes it hotlinks.
