Boris Epshteyn's influence on Trump's decision-making (such as it is) has flourished recently and rapidly. This bodes very ill for our nation's government. Should Trump get elected, Epshteyn will have significantly more access and control than during the first term--when he had plenty! (Enough to make many identify Epshteyn as the final numbered co-conspirator in Jack Smith's original J6 indictment.)

Mainstream media stops digging after Rudy, Bannon, and sometimes Stephen Miller, supplemented by whoever is playing Trump's Wingman Du Jour (Mike Flynn, Nigel Farage, Elon, Kanye). Those who hover in perpetual background shadows have far greater impact. I believe history will reveal it to have been cumulative...and almost always erosive.

We could have avoided this entire crisis if Biden had appointed a real attorney general. or at least fired him after a year. I have to assume Biden appointed Garland to NOT prosecute trump. If we lose the republic, I will blame Biden and his institutionalists. He'll be blathering about bi-partisanship while the fascists drag him out to be shot. The old fool would fit right into Weimar Germany. Who fought Hitler? The communists and socialists. The German liberals reached out and reassured each other Hitler didn't really mean it, tried to make deals with him and ended up DEAD.

Could she be worse than Garland?

She'd be an imbecile to give up a lifetime job for a short gig as AG. Then again, she is an idiot.......

I still say she's gonna get put up for SCOTUS, should PAB slime his way back into the White House. The question will be whether there's a complicit R Senate that'll rubberstamp whatever trash gets nominated, or a D Senate that will be willing to go "Fuck, no! Unqualified!" Of course, my big fear is that they'll more-or-less rubberstamp the trash as well, because "comity."

Another reminder that in addition to winning the White House, we have got to hold the senate. Otherwise, if Kamala wins, no cabinet, no judges, no nothing. Just more GOP evil horse shit.

Look, it could be worse. As I was scrolling thru the articles list on my phone, my first ID of the woman in that little thumbnail was Laura Loomer.

Harris’ AG will prosecute law breakers.

Trump’s AG will prosecute Trump’s enemies list.

Ta, Evan. I care not who's on TFG's short list for ANY position, because the 47th President of the United States is Kamala Harris. It's all up to us. Let's get out the vote and VOTE. With votes.

"it wouldn’t just be dismissing cases against Trump all day"

Sure it would, well that and appointing Very Special Prosecutors to investigate all the manymany malfeasances. Other than that why would TFG need or want a Main Justice? The local guys can process the undesireales as needed, but really that would be up to the State guys. And the County guys, of course.

It won’t go anywhere. But it’s yet another reason for the 11th Circuit to boot her from the documents case.

Yet another reason that Democrats need to take back the Senate -even if PAB whines himself into another term. Republicans in the Senate won't object if PAB nominated a carrot for AG, on any other position that requires conformation. Also, Trump could just go on appointing "acting" persons to these positions, since no one seems to be able to sue him for violating the spirit of that appointment power ( if not the law )
