Guy Who Loved Uganda's 'Kill The Gays' Bill Cannot BELIEVE How Narrow-Minded Liberals Are!

Tony Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council and a man who praised Uganda's Kill The Gays Bill as a swell way “to uphold moral conduct,” stopped by Fox Business News on Monday to have a chat about how super mean it was of Hillary Clinton to call half of Donald Trump's supporters "deplorable."

In his segment, he expressed concern about Hillary Clinton possibly locking up and executing said "deplorables" as they do in other countries with people they deplore. You know, like gay people. In Uganda. Which Tony Perkins thought was a good idea. He also stated that he felt like liberals were very "narrow-minded" regarding those they disagree with. Oh, or in Russia, which Donald Trump thinks is a swell place with a great leader.

Stuart Varney agreed, saying that it hurt his feelings a whole lot when people suggest that Republicans and Trump supporters are racist, because he has a lot of different ethnicities in his family and therefore cannot hold racist views. Just like how men who are related to women cannot hold sexist views.

Let us put this in perspective! Tony Perkins and his ilk say horrible fucking things about people. Regularly! Perhaps one of the more mild ones is how they believe that people who do not have sex the way they would like them to have sex are going to burn in hell for all eternity. That is a pretty bad thing to suggest anyone deserves! They say these things so often and so casually that they do not even realize they are bad and mean things to say about people -- they even think God told them they were good things to say. It's like white noise at this point. Tony Perkins regularly suggests gay people are child molesters, as nonchalantly as someone asking you to pass the salt.

For decades, the right has complained about "welfare queens," talked about all the evil poor people out there who are just conning the system because they're too lazy to work, about gay people and feminists causing 9/11 and natural disasters and then in their spare time ruining "the family," saying every awful thing possible about women who have abortions, calling liberals traitors for opposing stupid-ass wars... And now, Donald Trump is up there saying terrible things about Mexicans and Muslims and making disgusting comments about women, and he's got all these horrific people standing behind him -- white nationalists, misogynists, anti-Semites, the "alt-right," David Duke, the worst of 4chan, Ted Nugent, and internet trolls who viciously attack women for having been in a goddamned Ghostbusters movie so badly that even Twitter doesn't want their shit.

Those are all bad things. They are mean things. They are insults. To be disgusted by them, to find them deplorable, is the appropriate response. It's not "narrow-minded," it's sane. It is absurd to expect the Left to listen to this for years and years and years, and to keep saying "Oh, gee, I guess we both have different opinions, but I'm sure you have a beautiful heart and are a good person!," which is apparently how they think things should go. They wish to live in a world where no one thinks saying a racist thing is mean, but that calling someone a racist for saying that thing is very mean indeed.

The only difference lies in what Varney said at the end of the program. That Clinton supposedly insulted "ordinary, decent Americans." Apparently, all the people regularly insulted by the Right do not count as "ordinary, decent Americans" and are therefore fair game. That's what it comes down to.

There's no such thing as tolerating someone's intolerance. When you tolerate someone's intolerance, you are enabling it, and therefore participating in a system that continues to oppress the people they would prefer not to tolerate. If Tony Perkins wishes to not be called "deplorable" (which is a rather mild insult compared to the things that have come out of his mouth), then he should stop saying deplorable things.
