For chrissake. In addition to hosting PBS's "Washington Week," Ifill co-hosted the network's "PBS News Hour" with Judy Woodruff after Robert McNeil and Jim Lehrer retired. The Universe, having recently had a good rueful laugh over Americans' choice of a president, issued a statement reading "Yeah, we never said it was fair. Any of it."
And also gone: Actor Janet Wright, Emma from Corner Gas is dead at 71.She was one of Canada's national treasures. An excellent actress and a champion for the arts. Younger Wonketeers may remember her from Corner Gas, but older ones would know her from all kinds of other roles PLUS Corner Gas.2016 hates us. And there's still a month and a half to go.

She always seemed to be optimistic about politics in spite of the boobs she often interviewed. As bad as I felt things were watching her on Newshour always calmed me quite a bit.
We also lost Michael Massee. He wasn't a superstar but he was very recognizable as a character actor in dozens of movies and television programs. No one could do "menacing" like Massee. I still remember the first time I saw him, in Se7en, in a scene with Brad Pitt. He was the guy who worked the front desk at a massage parlor ("lust"). That movie was from 20 plus years ago, but I can still remember thinking "Who is THAT??"
I remember them saying something like she was attending to health issues. Somewhat unsettling as both wouldn't want her to be sick and God she should be there for this. I t hink it was Woodruff who made the announcement and it seemed both ominous and dismissive at the same time if that makes sense. I can't imagine that night for her, her family, and colleagues.
Dok, if we want to express doing to God the kinds of things God does to others would that get one hammered? Because if not his manual has some hellish possibilities.
I've already watched that "Fuck 2016" montage 3 times today. and I'm still just going FUCK THE LAST HALF OF THE 2010s! it is the worst. 2015 introduced campus carry, open carry, the dumbest tax cut better (which was made marginally better by language added by my state senator to hold the schools harmless--i.e. to maintain their funding levels), banning PPGT and PPGC from participating in 2 programs for "because: 'BORTION REASONS (HIV and cancer screenings? really?) and the biggest scandal in healthcare funding that no one ever heard of, but literally made sitting legislators cry. 2016? yeah, fuck it right into a black hole. we have to suffer the loss of Cohen, Ifill and the election of Donald Trump in the same week after how shitty this year has been already? and 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 are all going to suck because Trump, Pence and/or Ryan will be ununleading our country.
