Well punching nazis is a public duty.My dad fought in the war, and was badly wounded, and I'm just glad he's not around to see the term anti-fascist being used as a slur
I'm slowing being convinced, and that is saying something. I am anarchist (Don't tell me what to do!) and strongly opposed to using violence for any other goal than preventing worse violence* so anything mandatory is by definition punishable and all govt punishment is underwritten by the state's monopoly on violence. (Don't taze me bro!)
I don't think you could get away with it at my voting station, since they take down volunteer names from people who are actually voting. In any case, why would it be an issue? There are 4 people randomly matched at the table and the bureau team also keeps watch over the 3 or 4 tables. It would take a really determined effort to cheat. And to have an impact on the election results would require hundreds or thousands to coordinate - without getting caught.
Not foolproof, but definitely beats the American system.
I feel slightly bad, having two large boxes of various discarded pieces of hardware from the past 20 years, but can always make myself feel better by reminding myself of the shed full of 8086, 80286, and 80386's my dad has. That, and the still shrink-wrapped copies of of software for the same systems that he has packed in with them. If the world ever needs to return to early 16-bit architecture, my data has an incredible head start.
Will someone point out to the networks that the slower the results, the longer their Election Special Coverage™ can last? Then you'll see some corporate lobbying for paper ballots.
No, you don't get paid for civic duty. The municipal employees do get paid for spending their Sunday manning part of the bureau.

I believe those only do a total count of ballots, and do not count votes. I could be wrong.
Regardless, they still have an army of people that count ballots & votes by hand.
I know what zip files are, those are the things that kept GTA1 at around 30 diskettes instead of 50. But what are zip drives?
She is very likeable there.
Trump looks too young there, a bit like a young Paul Atreides in the 1984 Dune movie and that is severe Atreides libel.

Meanwhile, in the Netherlands voting is done using paper. Voting machines have been banned since 2007.

What are we going to do? VOTE!! In overwhelming numbers. On paper ballots that can be recounted if necessary.

WTF do you think we are, some shithole country? Americans like rights. Not responsibilities.
I dunno. There was that episode of Futurama.
Does this count?https://m.youtube.com/watch...
"Richard Nixon's Head" is what Tricky Dick called the Oval Office bathroom, back in the day.
